@Pr2 (and other translators), just a small suggestion:
since no-wrap is the default option for creating po files in openpli, and poedit wraps the messages,

I suggest to unwrap your new .po, before creating the patch, to avoid unnecessarily huge diffs (both now, and also when regenerating po's in the repo in the future)

msgcat --no-wrap fr.po -o nw_fr.po

True sarcasm doesn't need green font...

Let's do it the no-wrap way then. I wonder what will be the next translation requirements...

Would be nice to edit the 1st post of this thread and define once for all the rules to submit properly a translation.

hmm, taking a look into this second patch,
I rather meant to create the translation update patch using new unwrapped fr.po against the repo's fr.po version,

not patching the patched (wrapped) translation file... ;)

Hi,

Sorry I won't restart the translation that I have already done, apply it first.

I already create patch based on fr.po and there was no problem, it is the first time that we are talking about wrap no-wrap.

I always use POEdit to translate. It was adviced to me to use it.

Or use POEDIT vs 1.4,6; that doesn't do the 'wrap'.

Hi,

POEdit is aware of the wrap/no-wrap discussion and they plan to change it in 1.7 version.

Well known for a long time... :) (link)

Yep, I know. I use 1.4.6 and will continue doing so until the wrap-bug has been fixed.

Hi,

Why did you not include the last french translation of pr2 in the sourceforge.net/p/openpli/enigma2/ci/master/tree/po/fr.po

The lastest date in sourceforge is :

"POT-Creation-Date: 2014-07-21 19:08+0200\n"
"PO-Revision-Date: 2014-05-27 19:36+0100\n"
"Last-Translator: Pr2 <>\n

Here is a sample menu untranslated with the deposit of git

mini_995803101923354421C00000000.jpg

The latest translation of pr2 :

"PO-Revision-Date: 2014-10-12 21:03+0100\n"

The same menu with the last translation

Hi,

Thanks demosat.

I will try once more to submit my translation file, it is a no-wrap version with a valid git patch file (the full fr.po is also provided so developper can generates its own patch if needed).

I also provide the fr.po and fr.mo file so people can manually update the translation if they want to test and report that it is working... let's cross-finger that this time it will applied to trunk.

For people willing to test:
- unzip the attached file
- take a backup of the original (or rename it):  /usr/share/enigma2/po/fr/LC_MESSAGES/enigma2.mo
- Transfer the file fr.mo to /usr/share/enigma2/po/fr/LC_MESSAGES/
- delete the existing enigma2.mo
- rename fr.mo to enigma2.mo
- restart Openpli

Regards,

Pr2

Hello,

noticed, that in the current image, there still are many screens where the german translations are missing.

I would take the necessary updating of german translations for current open pli image, only unfortunately I don`t know how proceed carefully.

Can someone please give me an to a layman  understandable short "guide" how to do that?

Then I would start with editing in the near future.

Regards

Perhaps don't waste your time since they don't seems to push the translation that we submit here... I am still waiting mine to be applied...

Images derivated from OpenPLi use the translation and OpenPLi don't, strange...

No not yet... I flash yesterday image and many menus (that I already translate) are still in english... :(  I perform today update and still the same.

i don't know what to do more... seems that OpenPLi doesn't care to have proper translation in foreign languages...
