Here is 0.35 version:

- when on start of plugin does not exist some input/output directory, is used /tmp instead of GSOD :-)
- support for DVB-T (tried) and DVB-C
- some cosmetics

Seeking for help - I installed setpicon from install software library as well as picons for my sat; it worked well, allowed change picons - all OK, until I changed the input directory to external HDD that is connected via esata. When I browse in the setpicon it does show the picons from input folder but does not allow me to assign it to channel. What can be wrong there?

thanks a lot for advice - I am linux novice so sorry for language, probably not too correct

One question - picon is not assigned for channel in plugin (top-right) or is not displayed then in skin ?

novice as I said :)
input is on eSata; output in the root, same place as original picon directory, just in dir called picon_out
there is no error message, it just does not accept "OK" when I try to select picon in the setpicon plugin

to answer your second question - it is not assigned for channel in the plugin nor displayed in the skin; when I installed the picons library it actually assigned picons to couple of channels and those are shown in the skin properly

I did the test - here is the console output for following action - plugin started, select picon for a channel w/o any picon assigned:

I see it ... "copy /hdd/picon/08w_bloomberg_tv_eu.png /picon/CT_Sport.png"

You must set there in Options - Save picons as - service reference, thats all.

@ims Hi

I've been using your excellent "Setpicon" plugin for a couple of years now. Thanks its been great.

However I am now in the process of changing my picon's from "service ref:" to "service name" using the script by Huevos on this forum.

This is where I have run into a problem.

Example: SKY Germany and SKY UK have a channel with the same name "Sky Select"

I was hoping that in your plugin that "Saving name with Orbital Position" might help but for some reason this does not give any response from the plugin.

I can of course rename each offending picon differently, then search for it via your "setpicon-plugin" and assign it to the correct service.

Or maybe I'm approaching this from the wrong direction, so any help would be appriciated.

Thanks Col

I think, in this case you must for one of this same service name using picon as service reference.

"Saving name with Orbital Position" - it was made long time ago (when was used for picons service reference only) - for saving all picons into format servicename_orbitalposition.png - for better orientation in a lot of files.

Thanks for the quick reply.

So if I read correctly. To save as "servicename_orbitalposition.png" I must start with "serviceref. png" first ?

It works still ... If is set "Save picons as" name and "Save name with orbital position" yes, then it will be saved f.eg. instead ct1hd.png as ct1hd_23.5E.png.

But again - it is useful for user only, not for mechanism for displaying picons... If you have 2 defferent services with same name, for picon's mechanism you must use for one service_reference.png (it has still priority) and for 2nd use service_name.png

Thanks for your patience,

I understand, "it is useful for user only, not for mechanism for displaying picons". As it is my intention to manualy map any offending picons later.

What I was hoping for was to add the orbital position tag to the correct picon, then copy over the other picon with the same sevice name. However I cant get setpicon to tag anything. Save as service ref or sevice name works fine, I just cant get it to add orbital position.

FYI, this all came about as over the years (my bad) my picon folder (28e, 23.5e, 19e, 13e & 30w) has grown to 8000 picons by service ref: In some cases there must more than 50 of the same picon but with different service refs. After converting to sevice name, this now down to 3000
