The solution is to edit the fstab (etc/fstab).

Can somebody please explain in English?

In my case /media/hdd folder does not exist.

I only have /media/usb folder.

Where do crash logs go in my case by default?

How can I make them go to /media/usb folder?

How can I make them go to /media/usb folder?

probably the easiest solution would be to assign 'hdd' label to your usb device

/home/root

or in /tmp/ (as far as I understood /?/)
/* No hardisk. If there is a crash log in /home/root, leave it
* alone because we may be in a crash loop and writing this file
* all night long may damage the flash. Also, usually the first
* crash log is the most interesting one. */
...
/* Re-write the same file in /tmp/ because it's expected to
* be in RAM. So the first crash log will end up in /home
* and the last in /tmp */

depends on the file system on it...
if it's ext*:

tune2fs -L hdd /dev/sdxY

and if it's dos or ntfs, the easiest way would be to just rename it under windows
