Yes I noticed.
Before I merge those, I want to discuss this internally, because it has some implication.
However, as several dreamboxes suffer from boot problems after the driver updates, now might be the time to deliver all the bad at once.

Persian Prince,

I see you are removing a previous patch meta-openpli/recipes-linux/linux/linux-dreambox-3.2/0001-disable-broken-brcm-shared-uart-irq-support-for-bcm7.patch.

This was added by DMM on January 10th 2013, to fix a problem with irq's, see http://git.opendream...d11b4760e229b6a

Without this patch, the DM8000 box will become unresponsive to the remote control after a while.

Why is it removed, since it has nothing to do with UBIFS?

Thanks,

I just discovered it in their git.

it seems to be no longer needed when kernel 3.2.41 is used.

Please do not merge this ugly patch.

What is exact ugly here? The only thing I can come up with is that afaik none of our supported receivers support these rates?

EDIT: didn't notice it didn't patch the autoresolution plugin, sorry.

blindscan 3.2 for all vuplus models but as you know dvb-s is possible for vuultimo , vuuno and vuduo2

also 20130207 driver update for all vuplus models except vusolo2

I didn't incorporate this driver version because (according to the changelog) it didn't bring anything useful for non-solo2 receivers.

EDIT: I see pieterg committed the whole bunch: 6afa9259ee788dfe98ed9669e0b4005abb3b1b16

Since last updates, we have many enigma2-plugin packages with binary only and -src with source python files. The "problem" is that in the plugin management, you see all those packages twice. One normal and one -src.

for example, enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-softwaremanager and enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-softwaremanager-src, enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-skinselector and enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-skinselector-src etc etc

normal users only need compiled packages with pyo files not with py files (sources)

it will help to reduce the image size and prevent compiling on the box

Well, if you are skilled enough to edit python, you're skilled enough to opkg install the sources.

You didn't get the point. It doesn't help that a cripple can use a wheelchair.

PS: And Sorry for the wording - I'm not making any jokes on handicapped people.

I think you do not understand what he wants...

Could we change the softwaremanagment to show only the plugins - and as an extra point install the sources of the installed plugins?

For sure it is in python string handling

you're kidding right ?

PLi is #1 open source enigma throughout the world and splitting packages won't change that

src and dev packages have different meanings and python is designed for compiling when running, but if you start ignoring such enigma2 design principles and feel comfortable...

As I'm pretty sure that our friends are NOT shipping most of their Plugins without py just to save space and avoid compilation this move is simply suspicious - especially together with such arguments. If DMM would do such a move they would be grilled once more :)

But I'm just pointing out the personal opinion of a dumb person which doesn't understand the enigma2 community and Open Source.

And actually you are not splitting you are multiplying keeping different CPU architectures in mind.

python only have to recompile if there is something changed - so there is no need for such a waste of free space.

If you want to see the code only install the source - where is the problem with this?

Try to push some buttons on fb - it is very easy (as I can do it, everyone can do it)

The dumb users will simply decide if they like it :)

PS: I should not use this word anymore, or I will have to wash my mouth with soap ... again.

PPS: And PLi always told everybody how slim their images are and that they don't have any space problems that now suddenly need to be solved.
