Dima73 doesn't want to use e2openplugins, unfortunately.

The ipk has only .py files, where are the binaries which you do not want?

For your information, py files are source, pyo are compiled

The ipk itself is a "binary". ;)

What hemertje means is we prefer to create the ipk on our buildserver from a repo...

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

Ah, come on!, everything in computer files is binary.

All a processor knows is zero and one.

Dima posted a file with source code, I hope that a "Pli Official"  knows enough of coding .

I think that  even "Hemertje" is able to make the difference between a binary blob or a zip file with a .ipk ending.

When developers use the word "binary" and "source" the purpose and difference is very simple. Source is what you put into the compiling process, binary is what gets out of it. A package is something that comes out of the building process and therefore it's "binary". What we need is the "source", so we can make the "binary" ourselves. Whether the source is supplied with the binary is not relevant.
