I am using the Autobackup plugin for dm500hd with PLI 3.0. I have tried multiple time to restore my dreambox to the state I had, before I updated the firmware but every time I do that when I run the restore I get only my settings and not the plugins. What am I doing wrong?

Yes autoinstall is activated.

When I flash I go to the autobackup plugin and I restore. Is there another way to do the restore?

autorestore only restores plugins that you have downloaded from the feed.

autorestore does not restore your plugins but reinstalls them from the feed.

@dirocca

when does it start to automatically download the plugins from the feed? Is this done automatically?

@Meega

When you flash and you've made an backup  with autoinstall enabled.

It download and restore the settings of it ,by the first reboot.

If it fails or the backup was shut down ,you can restore within the plugin (but you already knew that).

So something went wrong during backup or restore.

You could check the autoinstall file located in the backup directory and see if it contains any plugin.

I usually do that before i flash.

There is a file named autoinstall0009342affb9.

If I edit this file inside there are the following entries

enigma2-plugin-extensions-cccaminfo
enigma2-plugin-extensions-epgsearch
enigma2-plugin-extensions-livefootball
enigma2-plugin-extensions-livefootball-dataupdates
enigma2-plugin-extensions-subtitleplayer
enigma2-plugin-extensions-xmltvimport
enigma2-plugin-extensions-xmltvimport-rytec
enigma2-plugin-skins-dmconcinnity-hd-m-mod-pli
enigma2-plugin-softcams-cccam
python-compression
softcam-support

Keep in mind that the backup files are in a  nework drive that I need to mount after I flash.

Thought so.

Try to make the backup to hdd or usb stick.

Then the restore happens while rebooting.

So there is now way to restore the plugins through the network drive?

Why there is an option then?

If you want restore all manually installed plugins, place they into /etc/autoinstall file. Each plugin one line (must be it with path).

Example of /etc/autoinstall:

/media/hdd/enigma2-net-usb-pli30_1.1_mipsel.ipk
/media/hdd/enigma2-plugin-extensions-pzyemail_0.6-OE2.0_mips32el.ipk

Then make there in Autobackup plugin Backup. This lines will be copied to main autoinstall0000....... file and after reflash will be installed ( when sources will be exist, of course).

In the etc folder there is no autobackup file. Shall I create it?

I did  not quite understand what are you implying in doing...
