Hello!

I would like to ask how you guys make a full nfi backup on OpenPli 4.0 ? (DM800SE)

I am trying to use this settings, but the size of the .nfi backup gets bigger than 70MB, the memory is only 60MB???

How to flash 70MB on a 60MB memory? :o

Thank you very much and happy new year!!

1)  dflash 12.0.16 from feed - IT DOES NOT WORK at the moment from the feed!

Read this:

http://forums.openpl...in-by-gutemine/

2) Use first athoik/Satdreamgr shell script:
https://raw.githubus...x-fullbackup.sh

Be sure that during the start-up Satdreamgr shell script, your box is connected to the internet- it Checking Dependencies and if necessary, retrieves the necessary from Internet

3) Then manually install dFlash and all necessary ipk

Works and I use daily.

I am not realy into Linux. But can someone explain how to execute this script from athoik? And which ipk's need to be installed prior to installing dFlash from the feeds...
A step by step guide would be greatly ppriciated....

1) copy the shell script to
'var/volatile/tmp'
2) go with Putty / terminal / console to the tmp folder and enter
'chmod + dreambox-fullbackup.sh'
3) then just run the shell script
'bash dreambox-fullbackup.sh /media/GOODRAM'

Instead /media/GOODRAM put Your path, where the backup is stored. If it is an internal hard drive, You can also run just
'bash dreambox-fullbackup.sh'

Thank you Zeros

I understand this script would create a full .nfi backup? Or do I still need to install dFlash?

Tried your backup script. On my DM8000 it will not run. Error in line 2 and unexpected 'elif'. Tried the explanation on Newnigma2 webforum. Copied all the .ipk files posted there together with dFlash 13.5.ipk..
Installation failed due to failing dependancies in nandwrite and nfiwrite..

Would be very grateful for a step by step guide to install some form of full backup...

Hi goldeneye!
I checked your error and I'm sorry, my mistake! Before running the athoik script (part 2)

root@dm7020hd:/var/volatile/tmp# chmod +x dreambox-fullbackup.sh

This means there must be x also (you give the rights to execute). This is the reason your error in line 2.
Please try again.

Zeros,

Unfortunately no luck! Installation failes due to dependancy errors in nanddump and nfiwrite and mtd-utils ipk's. I've been searching high and low on google and respective satellite forums. Without these, installation of dFlash or any other utility is simply not possible. I am running with a older OpenATV image before 20-02-2015.. Since I am no expert in Linux I've decided to leave it at that. If the DM8000 crashes in the near future, I wil simply replace the box with something newer. My wife won't let me tinker anymore afraid of loosing TV...

OK, I'll write a proper guide in the coming days (I actually have a decent guide already built in my native language. I will translate it into English, and place here tomorrow).
