Is it possible to use a SkyStar USB HD box on my ET9000 OpenPLi 4 as an external tuner ?

I already have a Aver HD usb DTT tuner, but I don't find any drivers for Technisat SS.

One month ago, I get it working on an ET9000.

But now I'm trying to do it in my new ET8000, but it doesn't work.

I install kernel-module-dvb-usb-technisat-usb2 , and kernel-module-stv6110x, I put the firmware file in /lib/firmware.

Then, the first time I connect the USB device, dmesg shows the following....

usb 1-1: new high-speed USB device number 2 using ehci-brcm
technisat-usb2: set alternate setting
dvb-usb: found a 'Technisat SkyStar USB HD (DVB-S/S2)' in cold state, will try to load a firmware

I have deleted some i2c-errors, they are all the same....

The device Technisat USB device (DVB-S2) appears in tuners list, but when trying to tune, it doesn't find anything.

I see that kernel has been updated.today.  Has anything to do ?

Hello,

Just to tell my own, expérience:

Obviously, this device has some issues.

It woks flowless on my ET 6000 provided there is no another USB tuner connected, i;e; USB DVB-T device.

When both the internal DVB-S tuner and the Technisat are working: no problem.

If another DVB-T is connected and willing to make all 3 tuners in action: lot of freezes with the recorded files.

I come to the conclusion the Technisat loads too much the system.

I changed my dead Anysee E7 S2 for the Technisat: big mistake!!!!

With the Anysee, all tuners could work at the same time....

ET6000 mounted in triple tuners with DVB-S2 Anysee E7 S2 + DVB-T Twintech UT30

Yes, the tuner could load too much the system, but If I use this tuner and another USB DVB-T device (same ones) on my old ET-9000, both work fine.

ET-9000 has 3 times less CPU, 4 times less RAM.....

With all file changes applied last week (big changes), it has not changed behaviour. It doesn't work.

I really wonder why exists an option to install it on et8000.

OpenPLi team, you could delete it from feeds. It has no sense to have something that doesn't work at all.

old ET9000 ==> no problem.

new ET8000 ==> not working.
