hi pcd, thank you for your post. i have checked and here is what i have seen in settings:

 

ParentalControl.retries.servicepin.tries=0config.ParentalControl.retries.servicepin.time=1406832133
config.ParentalControl.configured=true
 
can you please explain, if easily recognisable, what i need to do to remove the parental lock or pin code? or even what the pin code is?
 
This would be very much appreciated..

Telnet these commands :-

 

init 4

killall -9 enigma2

 

Then in the settings file - change the line -

config.ParentalControl.configured=true
to
config.ParentalControl.configured=false
 
Delete the other lines with parental.
Then give the telnet command :-
 
enigma2
 
Then enigma2 should restart with settings file changed.

finally sorted the pin code issue. all credit goes to pcd who offered by far the most accurate advice after searching for a solution for weeks.

Perhaps post the solution here, so others don't have to search for weeks too?


Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

This is what I don't get at all. Satlover, you've been screaming "Help", sometimes not very politely at all - and now that you have been helped, you offer no help to anyone in similar position... Unbelievable! And forums of this sort are full of such bad examples of non-collegiality! I mean, the ethos of these forums is mutual help, sharing of information and so on...

 

And it's not that difficult, either, it's a matter of attitude only!

 

Which image, which relevant settings, please?

FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE FOLLOWING: GORSKI, WANWIZARD.

SEE BELOW THE SOLUTION IF YOU HAD READ PCD'S POST...IT'S NOT HARD IS IT?

 

Telnet these commands :-

 

init 4

killall -9 enigma2

 

Then in the settings file - change the line -

config.ParentalControl.configured=true
to
config.ParentalControl.configured=false
 
Delete the other lines with parental.
Then give the telnet command :-
 
enigma2
 
Then enigma2 should restart with settings file changed. 
 
FOR THE RECORD GORSKI, IF YOU READ MY POSTS IN THIS THREAD WHICH ARE NO MORE THAN 5/6 YOU WOULD KNOW WHAT IMAGE ETC. NOT HARD IS IT?

No, it's not about that, it's about why didn't you do it immediately without having to be poked...

 

Wading through many posts, trying to decipher the xyz is neither here nor there!

 

Messages like yours ("I did it" and that's it) can be seen all over the sat TV forums and they are not a good thing! Especially from people who were even rude to people as to why do they not respond (and immediately) to their requests!

 

One more thing: no one YELLED AT YOU!!! IT WAS ONLY YOU YELLING AT OTHERS!

gorski, i'm not sure why you are so angry but let me make it clear to you that i have not shown any anger towards anybody at all but merely shown my frustration at nobody being  able to offer any solution across all forums this question he been asked until pcd's previous post. I have only started to use these forums 3 weeks ago and am therefore not an expert on what i should do as you put it.

 

For the record, in some other forums where i have asked a question i have been told to read the thread and find out myself so it kinda seems it's a different rule from one forum to another. As i said, i had only posted 5 or 6 times here during the past few days and probably hijacked someone else's thread in doing so..

You are right, I am not "angry" with you (alone) - as I said, I have seen this type of thing way too many times to mention, it's that bad... Yours was just a drop in the ocean...

 

I am highlighting the problem on our boards, that's what I am doing, not pointing to you personally or anyone in particular - but the principle...

ok. i understand. basically, to bypass the parental lock which is built into the openpli image (i'm using open pli 4.0) you go into etc/enigma2/settings and change the sentence which refers to parental lock=true to parental lock=false. Delete all other text referring to parental lock (which is only a couple of sentences preceeding the above.

It has nothing to do with openpli 4. Some plugin you installed - put that in. Any plugin can change settings.

 

BTW too much porn viewing is not good for the eyesight ! :D
