Dreambox Enigma2 has special code to handle multicast streams ...

So we need to construct the caps in order this to work.

 

Maybe playbin2 can handle it, try the following:

This is what I'm getting in the terminal. Want go. This is I switch to the channel. If i'm on a SAT channel, I'm getting then small squares in the picture. I tried also with rtp, but the same.

You need to use udpxy for multicast iptv as I use. Installing is easy, here is tutorial with files: http://www.satnigmo....ased-receivers/

 

I am also repeating question, if you can use two NICs at the same time? In my standard LAN port there is cable which is sending only TV signal (no internet). This brings one big problem - no internet and thus no support for EPG, feed access and network of course. Is it possible to plug wifi usb stick and use this one for internet? Or is Enigma2 not smart enough for this?

It's a linux machine, so it can use as many NIC's as you want.

 

You only have to check your routing, in particular your default gateway. Either your standard LAN port doesn't define one, or it has to have a lower routing metric than the second NIC. If not, traffic goes out the wrong port.

Indeed thats the problem, traffic not going to right port. Too bad i dont have wifi usb dongle to test this.

Why would you need a wifi dongle?

 

Just make sure there is no default gateway on your cable port. Is that DHCP assigned?

 

If you telnet to the box and type the 'route' command, you can see what your default route is set to. Is there one or two (with a mask of 0.0.0.0)? And what are the metric values of both?

My IPTV provider is using two different types of port on VDSL adapter. One is data, second one is TV. TV port cable is connected directly to receiver (Motorola), data port is connected to router. I changed Motorola with et5000 receiver (i dont have et10000), connected TV port cable (E2 is set to DHCP), installed udpxy, converted m3u playlist to list that enigma2 can read and everything works. Now the problem is Internet which does not work. For that I need additional NIC - USB WIFI dongle.

 

Maybe someone has the same setup as I have?

I have a similar setup as you describe, but my provider doesn't supply a default gateway on the DHCP request on the TV port, so I don't have your problem.


Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

The best solution, i think is, dream multimedia does. I don't know what, but on default dmm image IPTV works without udpxy and other plugins. Like http streams work, so does also rtp stream work. That way is more comfortable and recording is also possible of all stuff without scripts or plugins.

I think you need to read back before you comment.

 

This is not about streaming IPTV channels from the internet. This is about having a IPTV provider subscription, for which you need a second ethernet port to directly connect to the "TV out" port of the provider modem.

 

It is an IP routing problem, which you will always have with any system that has multiple ethernet ports, and multiple default gateways. You have the same with a Windows PC that has both the LAN port and Wifi enabled.

If DMM's enigma2 has added support for native (that is non gstreamer) support of MPEG-TS streams over UDP or RTP, multicast and/or unicast, I think OpenPLi should add this too. Until it is added, udpxy (which converts udp/rtp multicast mpeg-ts to http mpeg-ts) is a very nice option. We could also add udpxy in the feed.

I found the solution! I just put cable from modems TV port directly to routers LAN port and now I get internet + multicast streams on all devices that are connected to router. Udpxy is still installed on my receiver but I could have it on router. For now it works fine, I also have EPG.

Hello,

 

New on this board and new with OpenPLi. (already thank you for your support and patience)

I have a similar question to UDP (multicast) streaming of IPTV.

I have an ET10000 and also IPTV from my provider, coming from a separate port on my modem (glass fibre)

the stream works with VLC on PC in the format udp://@225.1.1.72:1111 (example Euronews) and also via the VDR IPTV plugin on my reelbox

I have the internet/LAN cable connected to the "LAN nic" and the IPTV cable connected to the "VLAN nic" of the ET10000.

But what to do to get these channels working ?

As explained above, you need udpxy to convert the UDP multicast stream to an HTTP stream. Once you have the HTTP stream, it can be added to a bouquet file so you can zap to it.

Have have done the following (without success), maybe somebody sees what I did wrong:

(internet/LAN cable connected to the "LAN nic" and the IPTV cable connected to the "VLAN nic" of the ET10000)

 

- copied udpxy file in /usr/bin folder on ET10000, changed 0755 permission.

- copied udpxy file (start script) in /etc/init.d folder on ET10000, changed 0755 permission.

- via telnet : ln -s /etc/init.d/udpxy /etc/rc3.d/S99udpxy

(this shortcut now appears in the /etc/rc3.d/ directory)

- rebooted the receiver

- created in /etc/enigma2 "userbouquet.iptv.tv" file with the following content:

(the bouquet now appears in the channel list)

 

#NAME IPTV Streams

#SERVICE 1:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:http%3a//127.0.0.1%3a8088/udp/225.1.2.131%3a1111/:TF1HD1

But no luck.

(as you can see I tried both the version with or without the @ in the line)

I got it working after typing the following line in telnet.
 

route add -net 224.0.0.0 netmask 240.0.0.0 dev eth1

The problem is that this is lost every time the receiver restarts.
Can this be added so it automatically routes ?

On "normal" linux you can add something like the following in /etc/network/interfaces

 

auto eth1
iface eth1 inet static
        address 192.168.1.2
        netmask 255.255.255.0
        gateway 192.168.1.1
        up route add -net 224.0.0.0 netmask 240.0.0.0 dev eth1    

 

But since /etc/network/interfaces is autogenerated you might create an executable script with the "route add command" and put it in /etc/network/if-up.d

The 7 in rights means that owner of the file can read, write and execute file. So it has the executable permition.

 

Also in script remove the up infront. Just add the command (the one you succesfully used in command line).
