As there are no new openpli-3.0 builds for over a month now but we are still confronted with sort DDOS attacks for the openpli-3.0 feed index request without ever an ipk being downloaded, it has been decided to remove the openpli 3.0 feeds in a short while.

We encourage people still using openpli-3.0 to upgrade to openpli-4

The latest image for the DM800SE is OpenPLi 4, so upgrading might be a better solution.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Is the openpli-3.0 feed already offline? I am trying to install Openpli 3 on an Xtrend ET4000, but after flashing, the StartWizzard cannot even install cccam...

That's a pity, looks like I'm a few days too late...

Is there a download location for openpli 3.0 plugins for manual installation?

Not officially. The trick I gave to people before the shutdown of OpenPli 3.0 was to download the separate .ipk's for the plugins you meededen. Now A bit to late.. Fortunately you can download CCCam from various trusted internet sites...

Any box that can run OpenPLi 3 runs better with OpenPLi 4, so why do you still want to install 3?

The reason why I need an older image for the ET4000, is because of a HDMI problem with certain TV sets, that has been introduced in newer images and that has not been fixed.

Those threads are over a year old. If that is still not solved, perhaps Xtrend needs a good kicking...

Yeah, I agree, but until Xtrend fixes the issue, there is no other solution than to stay on openPLi 3.

That being the case, would you consider to keep the openPLi 3.0 feed alive for just a bit longer?

Unfortunately, no.

Some clone manufacturers thought it'll be a good idea to have a hacked OpenPLi for their boxes, have those use our feeds, and do automatic scheduled updates. Which completely swamped our download mirrors with terabytes of downloads. So we were forced to stop it, earlier than planned.

I'll see if I can bring this issue to Xtrend's attention. Usually they are quite quit in fixing driver issues, so perhaps they are not aware of this problem.

Xtrend has been informed of this issue. So now we'll have to wait and see.

if it is just a driver issue, and the kernel is more or less the same, why not take openpli-4 but use the drivers from your older image.

Alternatively, you can download the build environment for openpli-3 and create an image yourself.

Thanks WanWizard for informing Xtrend. In case they need this information: the problem (no image, no sound on HDMI, when you turn on the ET4000 first and the TV-set after) appears for instance on Panasonic TH37PX80E and TH32LZD80F. On a Panasonic TX-P42X10E everything works fine.

@mirakels

I do have an old openPLi3 image (nightly build before new drivers) which I can install on the box. I only need a few extensions. With the feed in place this was a matter of minutes.

If that is the only problem, the workaround is very simple? Switch the ET on first, and use HDMI-CEC to have it switch the TV on?

@WanWizard

The workaround is the other way around. The TV must be on first, otherwise no picture.

Yes, but you will not be able to enjoy the new and future features of opnepli-4.

What I mean is you backup the working drivers,  install openpli-4, remove the dvb modules package, install the working drivers manually and off you go.

The kernels are the same for openpli-3 and 4 as far as I can see.

Ah, ok, misunderstood what you wrote then.

Still, the same solution applies, you can use CEC to switch the box on when you switch the TV on too...

At the time of the working drivers the kernel was older (3.6.0).

I know, that simplifies somewhat the switch-on procedure, but it still requires two remote controls (TV and STB) for operation.
