No, you are using VLC for other 4097 stuff as you wrote before, and you are using a download manager plugin (IPTV Player download manager) for recording rtmp on the box. Again, this is not "recording from bouquet list by presssing record remote button".

And keep bold and caps out of discussion, smart ass.

i was using vlc before to record rtmp

now i am not

i have got rid of vlc

it is not needed

yes i am using a plugin on the box to record rtmp

i dont need to have the links in a bouquet list to record rtmp

i dont need to push the red record button on the remote

i highlight the stream that i put in to my list and push the ok button on the remote

then that rtmp stream records to my hdd as a .flv

i dont want to record from a bouquet list

i want to record rtmp streams with just the solo2 and the software that is on the solo2

and that it what i am doing

so you can poke your bouquet lists where the sun dont shine

cuz they are not needed

smart ass yer thats right

a smart ass that get things done  :)

GOT IT

The problem is you still don't understand. We don't care how you found a plugin that can download rtmp streams. This is not what the OP wanted and what this thread was discussing before you started posting irrelevant stuff.

When someone asks "Can I record IPTV streams on my STB?" as the OP did, he means "Can I press the rec button while watching them from my bouquet and get them recorded?"

You can continue on what you think this discussion is for, but it is not.

BTW an important remark I made has slipped somewhere: The VU+ receivers were not able to record any stream (whether DVB or non-DVB), anyway before we updated the BSP a month ago (including new drivers).

No you can't unless they are MPEG-TS non 4097. Or unless you use 3rd party plugins or computers running vlc or running wget from telnet/scripts or this or that or the other ...

So, no you can't.

rtmp is not supported with wget in enigma2

vlc or pc not running

so if you use a plugin on your vu stb to record a rtmp stream to vu hdd

and you record that stream to that hdd

i am not recording it to my vu hdd with my solo2 ????????????

well whos putting those rtmp streams on my hdd then

Recording is the process of capturing data or translating information to a recording format stored on some storage medium, which is often referred to as a record or, especially if an auditory or visual medium

No, when someone asks "Can I record IPTV on my STB" what he really asks is "Those streams I have in the bouquet list, can I press record button in the remote and record them?"

He is not asking if there is a way for his STB (which is after all a full Linux computer) to capture data in the hard disk from an internet media link. That is what you still don't get it - or you are just trolling. Of course there is a way to "capturing data or translating information to a recording format stored on some storage medium'" but this is not what the OP wants to do.

he never said anything about bouquet lists

right get your rtmp links and stick em in your bouquet lists

then press your little red record button and you will see a error rtmp not supported

then you can sit there and watch a nice black screen with no recording

do it my way and your iptv rtmp or http streams will be recorded on your hdd

using just the solo2 and a thrid party plugin on the solo2

all your doing is picking hairs

now go and push your little red record button

Man, if I somehow desperately wanted to record an rtmp or any other stream, I would find the way to do it on my computer. You still just don't get it - people ask if they can record iptv streams as like they record DVB streams. Which means like I said, record or schedule record from EPG. And the answer is: NO - unless it is an http mpeg-ts stream with correct formating.

Your tips are helpfull but are not related to the original need - to record just like you record DVB, by sitting to your sofa and just pressing rec button. You can start a thread on "how to save internet media on your STB" and list all those otherwise helpfull tips.

If there is a workaround to achieve this than there is.

With third party software or without.

When it can record it records.

Doesn't matter how.

And I didn't see the op saying from the bouquet list. I want to know more how ozzsurf did it.

See also this thread: http://forums.openpl...amer-recording/

It's currently not 100% perfect. Timeshift don't work and you need to wait some minutes before you can playback a running recording without problems.

Hello guys

A very entertaining thread this... who needs TV drama when we have this ;)

but seriously...

I am a bit of a VU+ novice (Solo 2), have some IPTV channels (.ts streams)

When I press the red button, it does record, for about a minute or less, then the IPTV stream freezes and I have to stop the recording and re-start the stream if I want to watch the stream again.

Do you know why it records, but only a minute or so?

Thanks,

Fred.
