Hi Gentle Beings,

I wonder how I could make my Galaxy Note stream TV-channels from my Receivers the same way as it works on a PC (on the local WLAN only !).

On the Receiver there is OpenPli 4 with the Openwebif and on the PC there is  VLC installed and as soon as I click the Streaming Icon, VLC picks up the stream and Shows it on the PC - perfect.

On the galaxy note I can open the Openwebif on the Receiver, Switch from "mobile" to "full" mode, open the Bouquets but when clicking the stream Icon it says "downloading" but nothing else happens (VLC is installed ón the galaxy of course).

And there is really no detailled Options to set on the VLC for Android.

Does this work at all (how then) or would I have to install complete different Software on the Galaxy ?

Thx

You cant play on andriod because satellite stream too heavy video ex 5mbps or 6mbps .

Its only play on pc because pc cpu is powerful.

If you want to play on android first you need to encode video in vlc then you can play.

@erkman:

no this does not work, trying to open the m3u in vlc results in "cannot be played"

I will give that mentioned vplayer a try.....

Problem solved:

installed VU+Player (which does not need any additional Player to be installed) and everything works very fine on WLAN-n (no transcoding for HD necessary :-)))

Thx a lot for the info.

I have just found this thread.

Is VU+ Player a free application or do I need to buy it on Google?

Does it work with ET9x00?

Are there any alternatives to VU+ Player that are equally good? Do they require a separate player to be installed?

Hi,

The Mobile version of OpenWebif  hide the streaming button, I don't know why because the stream is working fine on Android.

So go in the bottom of the OpenWebif when you connect from a mobile version and there you can switch to the full version, so you will get access to the streaming button and it should work without any problem.

I don't know why the Mobile OpenWebif decide to hide to streaming buttons... just to force people think that they need to use a 3rd party tools on there mobile device to access the box?

Would be nice to have the button in the Mobile version too (both normal streaming and transcoding one)

Not entirely true. It depends on the "VU+ transcoding mechanism" where their "transtreamproxy" is listening on port 8002 and 8003. We don't have this transtreamproxy, at all, not even on VU+ products, but instead our own "streamproxy" that implements this mechanism, and the streamproxy is also installed on Xtrend receivers, so the compatibility is there.

But there is somehow no connection between VU+ PlayerHD and my ET9000.

Should I perhaps go into OpenWebif options and change the name my box uses to introduce itself? If so, what exact name should I use?

The wink at the end of athoik's post may be suggestive but I'm not sure.

Excuse me, the streamproxy is installed on the ET10000, because it features transcoding. On the ET9000 it won't be very useful.

There are other apps that are compatible with standard enigma streaming on port 8001. Even the VU+ app will probably work.

Once again you don't need any specific apps to stream to a mobile device, simply access the OpenWebif homepage and select the full version (bottom of the homepage) and use the normal stream icon.

Vu Player are not working fine, I have a Solo4K and test them on an iPad there are 2 version normal and HD version of VU Player but only normal version works (then only for SD channels), the HD version doesn't work. The EPG is totally messed up!

Those applications are useless with a Solo4K so don't even think to use them with a non VU+ product since they are not working fine with the most expensive VU+ product: Solo4K

Thanks but I do have a problem with it. In this case I probably need a separate m3u player to be installed on my Android smartphone? If so, what application would be recommended? In other words, how to make sure the picture starts soon after I press the TV icon?

I'm new to Android.

Streaming to your phone from the web interface is bogus, it doesn't work. There seem to be no browsers that can correctly download and interpret the m3u file and properly launch a videoplayer from it, on phones. On desktop, it's no problem.

So for your phone you need an app, and there are several.
