Nothing is 'broken' at all, but apparently you prefer the hard way.

No idea why though, but you're the only one.

In spite of old age, I'm still learning on a daily basis. But we can't seem to get you to understand the way this build-in mechanism works; in spite of the fact that PLi created this for precisely your wishes.

As a conclusion of very long discussion I understood that there is only one option available. Manually download satellites.xml from satellites-xml.eu web site and then replace this file from etc\tuxbox folder. No other way to automate this process. Am I right?

save it as user file

Well create your own then and save it as user file. That way it won't be over written when you update your image.

After all that's why PLi(-based)images have this ingenious system of a system-file in /etc/tuxbox (that is perfect for 99.9% of the users and is being maintained for you) and a user-file in /etc/enigma2 (for the other 0.1%). They don't bite each other.

Indeed as a user file, otherwise it will be overwritten.

And may I suggest http://satellites-xml.org/ as a reliable source?

Manually download satellites.xml from satellites-xml.eu web site [...]. Am I right?

If you want fresh data and the option to avoid feeds, use satellites-xml.org.

Should I just put satellites.xml file to the 'etc/enigma2' folder? Or I should do something else? Currently there is no such file in the folder 'etc/enigma2'.

If there's no file in 'etc/enigma2' Enigma uses the system-file in 'etc/tuxbox'.
