I regularly watch recordings which are still in progress and don't experience this issue.

Me too, and I can confirm this, I don't have a problem with it.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

I don't know that the playback of a currently recording file was solved and this happens to me in the past with internal HDD I don't record over the network.

Anyway this implies to schedule a record watch it and then delete it, this was not really the required feature here, but since you don't seems to find it usefull...

Autotimeshift is not the solution.in this case, the idea was to be able to schedule a timeshift in the day or even a few days before, power off the box and have timeshift started automatically. Personnaly I find it a nice feature.

A scheduled timeshift IS a recording? I don't get this discussion.

Or is this really only about not wanting to delete the recording? If you want that, add the trashcan as a recording location, and Enigma will delete the recording for you. Automatically.

OK forgot about this feature you are not interested in it so you won't implement it.

Pehaps other image maker will find it smart and implement it.  ;)

Guys don`t bother with it. It is obviously neither easy or challenging for you (in other words you are not interested at all like Pr2 already said), so this feature will probably never be implemented in PLi.

I think, plugin would be better.  Here must be selection for set "return service" + clear zap history.

Of course it`s Your time and I appreciate Your efforts in developing OpenPLi firmware.

The idea came to me head a long time ago but I rated the possibility to implement it low, so never asked for this.

I dropped this idea now since it was an occasion to mention this and I`m surprised that at least one fellow user thought it would be of any use

Are you talking about zap&timeshift or a PanicKey request from another thread ?

@littlesat - setting could be placed into setting in channel selection - similar as "set at startup service" , i think.

Let me rephrase it then: I don't see this being a feature.

It's a very edge use-case for a very small audience, for which a good and reliable solution exists today. It is a lot of effort to implement, it is prone to errors (the entire timeshifting code is flaky), and the ROI (I as in time) for a developer isn't really there. And all because deleting a recording is too much of a bother.
