How can I do that if i only get plain py files?
And this time I also changed little things...
The general courtesy rules of open source.
If you get changes/patches from someone else, use their name/e-mail/id to commit, and commit it just like you get it. From the command line git client, just overwrite the python files, use commit -a --author "bla@bla.bla" -s, that does exactly the trick.
After that (!) you do your changes and apply them in a separate commit on your own name.
Also there is no rule that says you have to always push directly after you commit something... As long as you pull before each sets of commits (to prevent conflicts with the nasty extra "merged..." commit) you're okay.

Possibly due to kernel issue.... For VU we're still in older drivers and therefore older kernels....
I don't know what you mean here. Worked fine in ViX under kernel 3.1.1.
Here's from messages using OpenPLi, but the tuner doesn't show:

Here's from messages using OpenPLi, but the tuner doesn't show:
Jan 1 01:00:17 vuuno user.err kernel: DVB: Unable to find symbol tda18271_attach()
It's a very know problem with OpenPLi or OpenEmbedded. Somehow the drivers DEPENDS are not created correctly.
Most probably what you are missing is kernel-module-tda18271c2dd.
Try to install it (opkg update && opkg install kernel-module-tda18271c2dd && reboot) and see if it works.

I got a message in telnet 'installed and up to date' but still get the error in messages and no tuner shows.
Jan 1 01:00:18 vuuno user.err kernel: DVB: Unable to find symbol tda18271_attach()
It might be a tuner missing also An lsmod for this usb stick (from Vix where it works) would really help to see what modules we are missing.
Eg for af9015 and it913x I am using the following bbappend to include the correct RECOMMENDS on satdreamgr image.
cat enigma2-plugin-drivers-dvb-usb-af9015.bbappend PR = "r5" RRECOMMENDS_${PN} += " \ ${DVBPROVIDER}-module-af9013 \ ${DVBPROVIDER}-module-dvb-pll \ ${DVBPROVIDER}-module-dvb-usb \ ${DVBPROVIDER}-module-dvb-usb-af9015 \ ${DVBPROVIDER}-module-mc44s803 \ ${DVBPROVIDER}-module-mt2060 \ ${DVBPROVIDER}-module-mxl5005s \ ${DVBPROVIDER}-module-mxl5007t \ ${DVBPROVIDER}-module-qt1010 \ ${DVBPROVIDER}-module-tda18218 \ ${DVBPROVIDER}-module-tda18271 \ ${DVBPROVIDER}-module-stv0299 \ " cat enigma2-plugin-drivers-dvb-usb-it913x.bbappend PR = "r1" RDEPENDS_${PN} += "${DVBPROVIDER}-module-it913x-fe"

As far as I know, yes. But I can't test in PLi with cable tuner, due to the above problem. And Littlesat says he has a problem accessing predefined cable transponder, which I have never experienced when I tested using OpenViX.

Where do I find that?
Just type lsmod command on ViX where usb stick works using telnet and paste the output here.
Eg here is the output from lsmod in formuler1 box with "Crypto ReDi PC 50 A" (rtl28xxu)
# lsmod Module Size Used by ipv6 370473 20 fc0013 5991 1 rtl2832 7747 1 dvb_usb_rtl28xxu 13621 0 rtl2830 6729 1 dvb_usb_rtl28xxu dvb_usb_v2 14766 1 dvb_usb_rtl28xxu formuler1 7871178 10 formuler1_3 33009 1 formuler1 formuler1_2 22287 0 formuler1_1 6605 3 formuler1_2,formuler1_3,formuler1

I don't get the "predefined transponder" option for DVB-C, even when I placed a cables.xml files in /etc/enigma2 or /etc/tuxbox. Is this supposed to work actually? It would be very useful.

Goes in /etc/tuxbox. There is no user file in /etc/enigma2 like there is with satellites.xml.
Predefined works fine in OpenViX. But anyway it's not a fault in my code. The problem is elsewhere in OpenPLi.
