VUsolo2 (hardware version 1200E8) currently running

Openpli 4

Kernal version 3.3.8

Enigma: 2014-04020

Last upgrad: 2014-08-04

Today I have tried to upgrade the software

Plugins > Software management > Software update

Message returned "No updates available"

I have looked in > Advanced options > Select upgrade source

I have never edited the three entries found there.

Question do I need to enter new URL's for the software sources?

if yes please could somebody post them here please

Thanks in anticipation

Kathrein

Could this be the problem?

I've just tried updating my channel settings.

In the failure message I get opkg update may be needed.

Which are the 3 feeds do you have? I don't have a Solo2, but on my boxes I to have 5 feed entries.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

I'm missing the third-party feeds in this list.

But with these links the image should already update itself, it will only not be able to find 3rd-party plugins...

I have these:

root@xp1000:/# ls -l /etc/opkg/
-rw-r--r--    1 root     root            83 Jul 21 04:07 3rd-party-feed.conf
-rw-r--r--    1 root     root            97 Jul 21 04:07 3rd-party-xp1000-feed.conf
-rw-r--r--    1 root     root            71 Jul 21 04:07 all-feed.conf
-rw-r--r--    1 root     root            81 Jul 21 04:07 mips32el-feed.conf
-rw-r--r--    1 root     root            77 Jul 21 04:07 xp1000-feed.conf

So you need the generic all-feed, the mips32el-feed, and the 3rd-party-feed. You're missing the last one (and I don't know if the solo2 has a separate 3rd party feed).

Contents of the feed looks ok too.

Can you telnet into the box, and do a manual update?

opkg update
opkg upgrade

Thanks for that I think that my image must be broken,

I telneted into the box this morning and when I tried opkg update or upgrade   I got    "wget returned 255"

Really don't want to reflash but its looking more likely I'm afraid.

Can you do a

which opkg-wget

on the commandline? It should point to "/usr/bin/opkg-wget".

And

cat /usr/bin/opkg-wget

should give you

#!/bin/sh

#
# Hack to implement if-modified http tag
#
# (c) Mirakels 2014
#

real=$1
dest=$2
src=$3
shift 3

log=/tmp/wget.$$
mydest=/tmp/wgetrec.$$
if [[ -f $real ]] ; then
    ifmod=`TZ=0 ls -e $real | awk '{print $6 ", " $8 " " $7 " " $10 " " $9 " GMT"}'`
    wget --header "If-Modified-Since:  $ifmod" $* -O $mydest $src 2> $log
    rc=$?
    if grep -q "304 Not Modified" $log ; then
        rm $log
        cp -p $real $dest  # caller wants to do mv $dest $real
        exit $?

    rm $log
else

exit $rc

Wanwizard you have hit the nail on the head well done. When I run root@vusolo2:/# which opkg-wget I get nothing no output. So thats the problem, am I right in assuming that I can create the file (opkg-wget) and simply pop it ino /usr/bin/ If I'm right do you have the file permissions please. MANY thanks!

I think I'm a step closer now when I try software update I get.

The status of the current beta image could not be checked because www.openpli can not be reached. Do you want to update your receiver  Y/N

Choosing Y  returns  "Package list updating"   then "No updates available"

Which seems improbable as the software from the system information dialoge returns

VUsolo2 (hardware version 1200E8) currently running

Openpli 4

Kernal version 3.3.8

Enigma: 2014-04020

Last upgrad: 2014-08-04   <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< ?

**** Correction should read ........................> www.openpli.org  can not be reached.

Checking the list of upgrade sources I see that none of them contain www.openpli.conf

The update process checks the image status via a link on www.openpli.org.

In case there is a serious bug in the latest nightly, we use this mechanism to display a warning on the box, so you don't update and end up with an unusable box.

It has nothing to do with the feeds.

It looks like you've missed an update somewhere, causing your image to be in limbo. A quick trick to reinstall all currently installed packages:

opkg --force-reinstall install `opkg list_installed | sed 's/ - .*//'`

But if www.openpli.org can not be reached, you need to sort out your internet connectivity first (which might also be the cause of your failing updates btw...).

I have created in /etc/opkg  a file called

myvusolo2.conf

containing the line

src/gz openpli-vusolo2 http://openpli.org/d...vuplus/vusolo2/

Tried software update and the 2 packages were downloaded and installed.  And reboot options listed.

BUT system information still shows after reboot:-

---------->>>>>   Last upgrade: 2014-08-04   <<<<<----- Is this right?

No. The feeds are available on http://downloads.pli-images.org. The website only provides the images themselfs.
