There is both a DLNA server and client in the feeds. Just look for it under the plugins.

Hi Erik,

neither server nor client is a renderer. A renderer is a service which can be remote controlled for instance by a smartphone. uPnP consist of 3 parts server, renderer and control point. A control point can take files from a server and show them on a renderer. All three parts can be on 1 device or 3 different devices. A client is a combination of renderer and control point in one piece.

In windows media player for instance a renderer will be shown in a menu which is called something like "play on..."

ciao

like he says :)

My goal is to use my vu+ box as an audio media player with the hi-fi without having to turn the massive TV on :-)

Cocy sounds hopeful but I can't get it to install

in case anyone can help :

Installing enigma2-plugin-cocy (0.2.1) on root.
Configuring enigma2-plugin-cocy.
Downloading https://pypi.python....ls-0.9.8.tar.gz
Extracting in /tmp/tmp75MxpH
Now working in /tmp/tmp75MxpH/setuptools-0.9.8
Installing Setuptools

I have been doing that for years without DLNA.

Setup a shoutcast server that "broadcasts" your music and then have the netcaster plugin play it.

Hi,

MPD would also be a solution. uPnP-Renderer or AirPlay is a bit more universal.

ciao
