Hey

I've connected my xTrend ET4000 to my AVR-receiver Denon AVR-X1000.

I have problems with hdmi cec. I think the xtrend applies a wrong CEC address: 1.0.0.0

When I installed it the first time, it took the address 1.1.0.0 and cec worked fine. But then I plugged in my PC and another hdmi cable to the AVR, and the adress switched back to 1.0.0.0 and CEC stopped working.

Now it seems that I have no chance to get the address back to 1.1.0.0, I tried everything I think.

Is there anyway to change the address manually with a texteditor directly on the box?

regards

IIRC if you press the yellow /?/ button (Set fixed) in the HDMI-CEC setup screen you should be able to assign fixed address manually...

hmm if I press "set fixed" it just puts the current cec address, how can I change it?

So on the left side is written (translated from german):

current CEC-address: 1.0.0.0

Use fixed address: 1.0.0.0

apparently I remembered it wrong, indeed you can only fix currently assigned CEC addresss (although not sure if it was once possible to enter any address from the remote control /?/)

so, it seems the only option to enter your desired address manually would be to edit /etc/enigma2/settings file, and change/add the line like this:
config.hdmicec.fixed_physical_address=1.1.0.0

note1: you need to stop enigma2 before editing settings: 'init 4' in telnet/ssh
and after all, start it again with 'init 3'
note2: use some linux format editor

hm if I stop enigma2 with "init 4" I can't ftp to the box anymore. And ssh crashed too, so I can't enter init 3

So I'll reboot (unplug the box) and try it without stopping enigma2

hmm, definitely stopping e2 shouldn't break ftp nor ssh connection...

then your changes won't apply I'm afraid. they'll be overwritten during e2 restart...

First try unplug PC and next device, turn off/on receiver and try clear address in box's CEC setting and try set there new. It seems, some your device does not support CEC and blocking it. F.eg. my Emtec cube player does not support CEC and when is pluged into TV's HDMI, no CEC does works (getting address too).

IIRC, box address getting from TV or receiver, box does not set address himself.

Here on forum is plugin for debug HDMI-CEC. You can see, what happens in HDMI.

And check HDMI cables. Not all cables are ok !

mhh fixed address didn't help, either.

When only my AVR is connected to the TV, Bravia Sync works fine and I can adjust the loudness from the AVR with my TV remote. But as soon as I plug in the xTrend to the AVR, my TV reports a "communication error"

How do I use the debug program?

copy it into /temp and then over Software management - Install local extension.

But when you get error after plug - try change hdmi cable at first.
