I was able to update my ultimo :
- I moved the file etc/init.d/vuplus-shutdown in a backup directory
- I updated the box (init 4, opkg update, opkg upgrade)
- I reinstalled vuplus-shutdown (opkg install vuplus-shutdown)
- reboot the box (reboot)
- moved back vuplus-shutdown file in etc/init.d (check first if necessary, on one other ultimo, the file was already there after upgrade/install)

I too have managed to update from telnet,but can someone please explain what this update of 45 packages was for ?
because no python files have updated,they are still all dated from the 13th of Nov,so whats the point of this ?

I just fixed this.
BTW the most simple way to fix the shutdown is to re-flash, just like we announced a week ago, it's a result of this:

What do you mean by flash ? I simply update by USB 20-11-2014 built , it complete all the process, but still Software update not working by feeds

I had reflashed a few days ago (after the big cut) but today again 170 updates. I nevertheless updated and it seems OK.

- I removed the file etc/init.d/vuplus-shutdown
Successful update, 261 Updates !! , Strange last update was before 3 days, yesterday there was 26 updates, then 71 Updates available, today 261 Updates !!
The update brought back the file etc/init.d/vuplus-shutdown
Backup Suite disappeared after the update 24.November 2014

On my solo2, after an update of about 224 files, the BackupSuite is still there.
Does it appear under the plugins to install (or remove).
Current version is 20+git38.
20+git39 is committed but not yet processed by the build/update process

wel i find it out i have to remove file vuplus-shutdown in folder etc\init.d and file S89vuplus-shutdown in folder etc\rc0.d then it worked :-)
this on VU+ DUO
Great, bedankt. Dat was de truc voor de Solo2, deze files wegmikken en dan met opkg upgrade de upgrade doen.
Het valt me overigens wel op dat je eerst de graphical multi epg als default had, daarna een enkele, maar met lang indrukken van de epg knop kon je alsnog een andere default kiezen. Nu (sinds +- 1-2 weken) is zelfs dat niet meer mogelijk. Wat ik ook doe, de default blijft de single epg en ik kan 'm niet wijzigen. Is de werkwijze voor het wijzigen van je default epg gewijzigd?

Yes Plugin has the Backup Suite. I think it was available on Plugin before the upgrade, since it was has been added to the firmware images

I have installed "Backup Suite" plug in, It works well.
Before it was not possible as it was part of the previous Images Build.

Issue is weer terug sinds de upgrade van gisteren (5-12-2014)
Eerdere oplossing werkt ook nu weer prima.
