I don't understand what you mean. Transcoding has been working for quite some time on the VU+Duo2 (I have one here myself and I use it frequently for transcoding).

See other topic, a workaround for the broken OpenwebInterface interface to OpenPLi is in the making.

I commited a probable fix yesterday, you may want to try it.

- update

- check if you have have streamproxy version 2+git98+b802cee-r0.0 and enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-transcodingsetup version experimental-git3963+7982152-r0.0 after the update, otherwise report

- run the transcoding setup plugin once and fill in some values

- for vuplus the values are real configuration items that are changed in the /etc/enigma2/streamproxy.conf file, for non-vuplus they're dummies that are only passed to the openwebif (but the owif uses them to build the appropriate urls, so the effect is actually the same, as long as you use the webif for transcoding)

- the values can be changed from the webif as well (because mostly you're not at home when you want to do transcoding), under "settings" and then "transcoding setup".

Hi Erik,

my test on an Vu+ SOLO2 and DUO2 was successful, the OpenWebIf Transcoding is working now.. thanks!

But on a second SOLO2 - same OpenPLi 4 (2015-02-24) version - only without pre-installed streamproxy and transcodingsetup, I received the following error message:

tux@solo2:~# opkg install streamproxy

The depencies on your receiver are bogus. The best way to cure this is to flash.

Hi, maybe I am stupid, but for me is not function. Normal streaming is OK. Or you can write me, how I can use transcoding? Software for windows or linux? Thanks and sorry.

There is a screens.

Don't be stubborn. You need to flash to cure this.

Ok, I've found a wrong (old?!) setting-config in OPKG status file

/var/lib/opkg/status
..
Package: vuplus-transcoding
Version: 2.0-1
Depends: vuplus-filestreamproxy, vuplus-livestreamproxy
Replaces: enigma2-transtreamproxy-util, enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-transcodingsetup
Conflicts: enigma2-transtreamproxy-util, enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-transcodingsetup
Status: install user not-installed
Architecture: vusolo2
..

after deleting this complete buggy entry, and with opkg update .. I was able to install the transcodingsetup software, now.

Erik, your package is ok.. I think the issue on my second Vu+ SOLO2, was a manual installation of the very very old vuplus-transcoding software in the past.

Why are you doing "opkg install transcodingsetup"? The error says that this package doesn't exists and that is correct.

@hypnos: Please check if streamproxy is running..

#process status check:

tux@duo2:~# ps wl | grep [s]treamproxy
S     0  5397     1  4860   828 0:0   14:23 00:00:00 /usr/bin/streamproxy

#netstat check:

tux@duo2:~# netstat -lpnt | grep :800
tcp        0      0 0.0.0.0:8001            0.0.0.0:*               LISTEN      515/enigma2
tcp        0      0 :::8002                 :::*                    LISTEN      5397/streamproxy
tcp        0      0 :::8003                 :::*                    LISTEN      5397/streamproxy

#streamproxy HD720p config example:

tux@duo2:~# cat /etc/enigma2/streamproxy.conf
listen = 8002:transcode
listen = 8003:transcode
size = 720p
bitrate = 2000
profile = baseline
level = 3.1
bframes = 0

You can also try to start streamproxy in DEBUG/Foreground Mode:

tux@duo2:~# /etc/init.d/streamproxy.sh stop
tux@duo2:~# /usr/bin/streamproxy -f

After a fresh flash, the streamproxy WILL be installed and it WILL be running, as does the setup plugin, which will be installed automatically.

Why use port 8081, when transcoding is configured to use 8002 or 8003?

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.
