Can the autobackup plugin be used to back up settings from one receiver, and restore them to a different model?

Say using settings from Vu+ Duo to restore on to a V+ Solo, or would model specific settings cause a problem?

Please note that:

- for the autoinstall (that lists the plugins to be restored) it is not necessarily the case, some plugins are hardware dependent.

- the settings contain your tuner definition, which might not be compatible too (for example difference in tuner type or number of tuners).

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Well, I'm not having success with this.

Should it just be a matter of copying the /media/hdd/backup folder from the old to the new receiver before flashing the new receiver?

OK, problem solved.

The issue I was seeing was that having copied the backup folder across, then flashing the new receiver, it would boot to the setup wizard and not import the settings.

It turned out to be the backup was bringing across a static IP address, conflicting with the original receiver which was still powered up. Setting the old receiver to get an address via DHCP before creating the backup solved the problem.

or take the cable from the old receiver, flash the other box, change the static ip adress in the new receiver, put the cable back in the old receiver, thats how i do it
