Dear all,
when I want to record a program, I get the message:

"In order to record a timer, the tv was switched to the recording service"

I have tried a lot of things, but without succes. I have a VU+Duo with 2 dubble LNB's connected to the LNB's using 2 separate coax cables. The box is connected using wired ethernet to a NAS server. I can play recordings I made earlier, also ones created by another VU+Duo box in the same house. I have seen this message described elswhere on the net dated 2011 and earlier.

Today a last effort to make progress failed as well.

Receiver switched back to factory defaults, fully clean, I'd say. Then flashed the latest software (Saturday 28 March) again using USB stick, then ran all the updates.Installed new settings file. Added network connection to NAS.
Everything worked, exept recording, the same message came up.

If I read and understand the message correctly, it says: "Dear user, you are trying to record something, but there is a lack of resources, so I will switch the tuner to the service that you specified.

Well I'm already watching that channel! I chose "Add recording (stop after current event)".

When inspecting the tuners, using the menu Sattfinder, both operate correctly, on both channels/satellites.

What can I do now?
Is there anyone that can help me? Please....

Hi,

I already experiment this (on my ET-9000), when we have two tuners with separate cables, if tuner A is watching a live TV show and that a recording start it doesn't use the tuner B for recording, it always zap and record on tuner A then I have to zap manually to the TV channel I was previously looking at and the live show then occurs on tuner B.

So indeed, I think that there is a problem in tuner handling when starting a recording, a free tuner B is not used, tuner A is always used for the 1st recording.

My setup is:

Tuner A diseqc A/B/C/D

A- Hotbird 13.0E

B- Astra 19.2E

C- Eutelsat 5A 5.0W

D- not connected.

Tuner B diseqc A/B/C/D

A- Astra 19.2E

B- Hotbird 13.0E

C- Eutelsat 5A 5.0W

D- not connected.

So tuner A and B received the same satellites but DiseqC setup is slightly different.

Hi,

In my setup, I think it has the default value, which is disabled.

Do I need to set it to auto?

What is the difference between disabled and auto?

This bug come in a day or two before arrival of the new spring logo, I noticed this as well!  (in fact from 23 March)
Bug description:
When you have two tuners, (as most of us have) and one of them is recording, then you can't watch with second tuner until the recording with the first tuner will finished.
Maybe a clean install will remove the bug?

Hi zeros,

The bug you describe is not the same one and I don't experiment it. You should recheck your tuner setting, perhaps it has been changed.

With my tuner settings are all okay, the error it comes with one of the daily updates. I suspect one pack = failure installing libdvbpsi. I will try to do a clean installation in the near future to see if it eliminates this error.
libdvbpsi is a simple library designed for decoding and generation of MPEG TS and DVB PSI tables according to standards ISO/IEC 13818 and ITU-T H.222.0.

I made today a new flash and all OK with my problem.
The new package for USB drivers that I use for DVB-T2
dvb-usb-em28xx (1.0-r0.10)
Pressure on extension r0.10
It not able to take advantage of this upgrade, only the new flash made it OK.

I have good news!

When thinking about the situation, I tried to eliminate and exchange.

While doing so, I experienced that an ol NAS server could not be mounted anymore. and a third one could be mounted. With this third NAS it was sudenly possible make recordings! So it was the NAS connection!

So dispite all the misleading hints and ideas about tuners, it was all about the acces to exeternal storage and not about the acces to tuners!

Now I have the NAS of my choice mounted using a proper set of credentials, and all works fine.

Think you for your input and help, it kept me going.
