You might expect, and that is also formulated as such in Dutch law (probably European as well), that a product that is much cheaper than comparable products, has less features. If you'd buy a Zero and would go and sue VU+ for the reason that it doesn't record, you won't win the case. The judge will deem that you could have expected the fact. The law even goes a step further, if a product is ridiculously cheap, it says you can expect it to be fake, clone or stolen and you can be held liable for that; buying or owning such goods is an illegal act.
And that is exactly what's missing with a lot of people, a bit of common sense. You can't have "everything" for "nothing". It just doesn't work that way. People that do work to build your device need to get a salary, parts cost money...
