I wonder if it is possible to save subtitle/audio track when watching IPTV channels?

When I choose a preferred subtitle/audio track, it works fine but then I change channels, I have to choose them again.

Also, Auto language selection doesn't work when using IPTV channels.

Come on guys!

It's possible to stream and decode internally PowerVu channels which come with a lot of audio/subtitle tracks.

It would be great if it were possible to save or automatically select preferred audio/subtitle track.

It would also be great if "someone" would implement that.

Is language auto select like for normal DVB channels sufficient?

I guess so.

These are DVB/TS streamed channels from one port to another inside a receiver.

Stream is received from the satellite, decrypted and then shown.

Here is an example of such a stream:

Attached File  Untitled.png   12.1KB   14 downloads

This channel is on 9E.

Funny enough, this is the only such channel where language/subtitle auto selection actually works.

On all other streams, it doesn't work.

I tried to find a reason why but I was unable to do so.

It would also be OK if the selection can be remembered if it is easier to implement than auto selection.

The subtitles and audioselections are cached in the lamedb... As streams do not have usually an entry in lamedb these cannot be cachd and therefore with the current implementation of e2 this cannot be stored.... But try to enter more info in the link (or better before the link) then you have a chance it might be cached in lamedb...

Since the audio streams are all mpeg and no addition name or tag included, so all channels looks the same.. a auto selection is not a option. Just like selecting the English, German or Dutch audio channel option that is implemented in the image.

I did some logging and the only reason subtitle auto selection works on E! is that this channels has teletext pid 071d and eDVBTeletextParser is started activating appropriate subtitle language:

[eDVBTeletextParser] starting PES reader on pid=071d

All other channels don't have teletext so this service isn't started at all and no subtitles are auto selected even though they are present in the stream:

[eDVBTeletextParser] disable teletext subtitles page ffffffffffffffff (und)

I can send enigma2.log file to anyone interested.

Ah, this is a 1:... stream and no gstreamer one. For gstreamer streams it should be possible. But the others are a problem...

These streams can't even be recorded.

The resulting file is 0 bytes.

A 1: stream is a DVB stream and you should be able to with it whatever you can do with something received over the tuner.

With such a service reference

#SERVICE 1:0:19:283D:3FB:1:C00000:0:0:0:http%3A//192.168.0.3%3A8001/1%3A0%3A19%3A283D%3A3FB%3A1%3AC00000%3A0%3A0%3A0:Das Erste

recording works (tested with other image, but it also worked several months ago with OpenPli).

That is an unencrypted stream.

Have you tried PowerVu encrypted one?

Yes, normal not crypted stream.

No, haven't tried that as I don't know how to do that.

Recording of encrypted streams will never work for at least some receivers, it's a drivers/hardware issue. If you receiver is listed as "cannot offline decode" in the comparison, you won't be able to record them using this interface.

He don't want to record a crypted stream. The stream is "somehow" decrypted and I guess the PC provides the decrypted stream and he wants to record it and change subtitles and so on.

If you receiver is listed as "cannot offline decode" in the comparison

My receiver is Xtrend ET6000 and it can do 'delayed decoding' if that's what you mean by 'offline decode'.

I guess the PC provides the decrypted stream

No, the receiver does the decoding internally.

The feature used to achieve PVu decoding is called Stream Relay and use port 17999. This is an internal feature of OpenPLi image this Stream Relay.

I also test recording a decoded stream on my ET9000 and indeed it doesn't work, the generated file remains empty.
