Everytime i press "Show latest commits on sourceforge" under the update software menu it just says:

Currently the commit cannot be retrieved - please try again

i have tried to both update openpli and have reinstalled a new version but this message still appear ..   maybe 7 - 10 days ago it worked....

Have anyone else noticed this issue or maybe its just me.

Sourceforge has been down for over a week now.

We're busy moving away from it as a result, but that will take time especially because we need to reconstruct a lot since we can't acccess the original.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

There is an option to get RSS feed eg: https://github.com/o...its/master.atom

Or using API in JSON : https://api.github.c...enigma2/commits

Edit1. Here also the API call for getting all repos: https://api.github.c...s/OpenPLi/repos

Ideally we should not use sourcerepos like github as our source. We should use a file generated by the build to indicate changes. The image can then download that file from our downloadservers and display it.
Using the sourcerepo is not reliable as it doesn't know whether the build or download server sync already occurred or failed.

-> Nice we could consider to arrange this with a RSS reader....

Getting updates with API seems better option, so I create it. Push is pending on github.

Works like a charm :) but i sugest to also change the text "Show latest commits on sourceforge" under the update software menu as it now polls Github.

I'm not a python expert, so maybe someone can explain to me, why in commit log date parse should be used datetime?

https://github.com/O...s/About.py#L198
If I compare what returns github api, then we of "2015-07-31T19:09:15Z" get "07/31/2015 19:09:15".

I think that it would be better use replace:

date = c['commit']['committer']['date'].replace('T', ' ').replace('Z', '')

Then we of "2015-07-31T19:09:15Z" get "2015-07-31 19:09:15 ".

Maybe it's not so "pythonic", but works many times faster and use less resources.

The first one will display date localized. Also you don't get any real improvement, about is called only on demand, so few nanoseconds won't harm.
