Hi,

I experience some bugs with FastScan.

(To clarify things I set all possible options of FastScan to NO)

Bug 1:

I have the feeling that the option.

Use fastscan channel names yes/no is not working as it should.

I defined it to NO and performed a fast scan for TeleSAT provider, the channel name created doesn't have the "satellite name" but the name from the Fast Scan, I think this is not normal so that FastScan simply ignored this option.

Exemple: Club-RTL is now "Club RTL / Kidz RTL" in the TéléSAT created favorite, but I ask to not use the FastScan name so it should be: "Club-RTL"

Porn channel saw (+18) in there name, etc...

So this prevent the "picons by name" that we use with official satellite name to display. So I really would like that FastScan option works as expected and use the satellite name and not the FastScan name.

Other problem linked with FastScan is that fake providers are added too in the list: Basic Light, Basic, Basic Plus which are the different possible options that you can subscribed, would be nice that when Use fastscan channel names is set to NO those fake providers are not added in the providers list.

Bug 2:

Due to bug 1, I perform a Manual Scan with delete before scan to Yes on the TP of the TeleSAT channels in the hope to retrieve the satellite name for the concerned channels but instead of getting back the real channel name I have <n/a> displayed in the userbouquet created TéléSAT. And when I zap to one of those <n/a> channel I have DVB Service as channel name but the image is there.

So FastScan bouquet have really something special that prevent them to retrieve the real name after a fresh satellite full scan.

Bug 3:

I can only receive Astra 19.2E and Hotbird 13.0E, those are officially the satellites that we need to receive to be able to use TeleSAT card.

With FastScan, channels from satellites that I cannot received are added in the list too. In this case: 23.5E Astra 3B and 28.2 Astra 2E/2F/2G.

Why add satellites channels that we cannot received?  Can't you filter them out automatically?

When deleting the useless satellites the channels remains in the fast scan created favorites but are now marked <n/a> and greyed out.

So is it possible to also automatically delete the channels in the userbouquet when deleting useless self added satellites?

Suggestion: add an option in the contextual menu when we are in the channel selection screen on a bouquet called: "Clean all not available services" that will delete automatically all the references to not available services in the bouquet. This can also be usefull after a fresh scan when channels have changed.

Bug 4:

Even with the option: use Fast Scan channel numbering to NO  the FastScan self-created favorite is always added on top of the list!

So we always need to move it elsewhere to be able the number that we know by heart for quick zapping.

Can you please foreseen an option to select if we want the FastScan userbouquet on top or not in the list?

Regards,

Pr2

Some providers have add a "special" PID to a transponder.

Fastscan is an option which read this PID and transform the data into a channellist.

You can choose to use the name which is provide by the table or update the name with the original transponder data.

Fast Scan does exactly as it should. TeleSAT, TVV and Canal Digitaal (M7) have their own defined list that covers 19.2-23,5-28,2 and 13 degrees East. If you use this predefined list it simply assumes that you have the option to view these channels (why else use the fast scan option?). In my case Canal Digitaal offers channels that reside on all 4 satellites NPO SD on 19.2, BVN on 19,2 and 13,BBC and FreeSAT on 28,2 and NPO HD and commercial HD on 23,5

And when you delete the package it will be shown on top of the bouquet list... Once relocated, execute the fastscan again and the relocated list will be upgraded....

@PR2.

Try AutoBouquetMaker plugin from OE-A. Most of the stuff you mentioned is dealt with in that plugin. No n/a issues. Doesn't show channels on not configured satellites. Can place bouquet at top or bottom. Has scheduled update. And lots of providers (35 including cable and terrestrial).

When it does a correct fastscan... Then you should have the same issue...
And that it reoccurs always on too... That is not true... You move it once and it stay were it should be...

@Littlesat,

You know that the FastScan bouquet doesn't remains at the place you set it in the list if you have the auto-update set to ON. I already report this.

But you didn't reply to this what is  Use fastscan channel names   supposed to do in your mind?

I am perhaps stupid and with a wrong setup, but for me "Use fastscan channel names" set to No means that it is the name sent by satellite that is used instead of the name defines in the FastScan. FastScan doesn't respect this!

@WTE,

Indeed that's how I understand too this option but unfortunately it doesn't work as expected, set it to NO and on TeleSAT list you will get the FastScan Name!

@Goldeneye,

Please go first read what is required to receive TeleSAT, only Hotbird 13.0E and Astra 19.2E are needed!  I am a subscriber of TeleSAT from the very first day.

They even provide a kit with an antenna to receive TeleSAT with a monoblock LNB Astra-Hotbird.

@Huevos,

Thanks for the tip, I will give a look at it.

Anyway, if a dev would take time to reproduce what I mention here you will see that everything is true an reproducible.

I don't want to hurt the people that develop FastScan I just want to have it improved by reporting bugs. But if they don't want to heard them no problem I will uninstall it from my OpenPLi.

1. Once relocated it will not go on TOP after an automatic reload... It will stay ware you moved it to.... at least here it does....!

2. Here the orriginal names ON/OFF is working as it should be....

I'm afraid something else is going on at your box....... I can not reproduce it...Note I'm using the CanalSatelliet fastscan list for years now....
