i have a dm500HD and am running an old version of open pli 2.1 ? i think . but ive tried an iptv stream but when i tried to go back to satellite list , the box crashed , so im assuming the old image isnt compatible . i think open pli will work with iptv , but which version is best ? im trying to get iptv to run alongside my sat channels . thanks . also if im going to update image to later version , do i have to do it from scratch ? i.e. turn off box, hold button in and switch back on at same time , until stop appears in window etc ? thanks

Updating from an ancient 2.1 image is not possible. I think you need to upgrade the bootloader too. And after doing this you have to adjust the image from scratch. It'll take just 20 minutes or less max.

As you don't have a backup, you have to adjust the image from scratch. That's all. ;)

Usually most of the things install by default. Beware that the default cam now is Oscam.

Just try it out. I'm sure you'll succeed. ;)

Yes, and you can change the active softcam from the softcam menu. The running one will automatically be stopped when you do.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Telnet into your box then type this to see what boot loader version you have:

~# opkg list | grep secondstage

If you have ssl#84 installed, just flash the latest image that will have the 84 boot loader. If you have earlier flash the ssl#84 first then image.

Yes there is. Shut down your box completely. Pull the power cord. Wait a few seconds to allow the capacitors to drop. Press AND HOLD the standby button of your box whilst applying power. Keep the standby button pressed until the green led has blinked 3 times. Your TV screen will show all you need. Like this...

is it possible for me to update the bootloader online as ive found this

“Improved flash error correction feature for the DM500HD, DM800HD and DM800HDSE OpenPLi just recently moved to the new SSL & drivers (mid Oct.). If you’re already running OpenPLi (not running a clone) it looks like the online update might update without first flashing the new secondstage-dm500hd-84.nfi. It is recommended that you flash the new image for improved stability. Starting today, images for the models DM500HD, DM800HD and DM800HD-SE include an improved flash error correction feature. In order to benefit from the improvements, it is required that you either flash the new image with the latest version of DreamUP (V1.3.3.8) or flash a new second stage loader ( DM500HD DM800HD PVR DM800 SE ) before flashing the image via your browser or other means. If you use the online update functionality, the new second stage loader will automatically be installed after rebooting.”

if it is how do i update online or is this not possible using pli 2.1 . thanks
