Somewhere I´ve read that the new SF108 from Octagon is the same under the hood as the Formuler F3. Is this true? If so, can I use the PLi-image for F3 for my SF108?

That is the claim. I can not confirm this. If you understand German do google and youtube search. Octagon Germany does deliver with OpenATV 5.1 Enigma2 Image.

Hi.  I think I can answer this.
I am with Formuler, and I can confirm that Formuler boxes has nothing to do with Otagon.
There are thousands of boxes in the market with similar looks and with same RCU, but don't be deceived by those similarity.
If that Sf108 really has the same h/w like F3, then it must be a cloned box and we should examine it...

But the genuine Formuler image will never run in a cloned boxes, because the Formuler is the original box.
 

As you can see in this PLi forum, Formuler brand and boxes are offcially supported by PLi team. 

If you don't see it, it is not supported here.  It's the simple fact.

I would suggest that you try for yourself, take the PLi's F3 image here and try it with your Sf108, then it will not work.  

If it works, you can inform me back.

Always best to check for these claims yourself.. Octagon 'clones' popular boxes like the MaxDigital XP1000. So it COULD be possible, but never judge by a rumour.. Buy one and simply try..

Ok, thanks for the various inputs, great forum this :-)

I have two of the SF108-boxes now running on OpenATV 5.1 and working as a charm. I also own a Octagon SF8 and the 108 is MUCH faster.

But I´m born curious and like to try as many images as possible for all various boxes I meet up with....and after some drinks I will try the F3 PLi on one of my SF108:s.

So far, I think the SF108 is very well worth the 129 Euros.

Can answer myself now. The SF108 does NOT boot with the Formuler F3 PLi image. Back on track again with a backup image of OpenATV 5.1
