Hello all
I'm using one of the latest downloads for VU+ solo2 and have found that the "Hide channel" funtion
does not work anymore.
As you know you can set this flag in Dreamboxedit.
Any ideas?

He means: ask Littlesat, he might know the answer.
I personally never knew that such a feature exists, and how you can "unhide" the channel on the box. Or do you mean the blacklist function (Ctrl-L I believe in DreamboxEdit)?
Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)
Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

You can hide channels that has parental control..... This is an option in the parental control settings. You can unhide them when you enter a pincode (via menu unlock parental locked channels or something like that).... And here it works as a charm....
You can add numbered markers in openpli that can be hidden... by a setting (in channel list 2x menu, then 7th option).... When you move channels around the numbered markers will be un-hiden always by default... Also this feature is working here with the latest openpli...

hi littesat,
any idea why this feature was removed?
thanks

I now understand what you mean... in fact feature wasn't really removed..... The Enigma2 UI did not support his at all...
But the hiden channels are depending on the parental blacklist.... they will be unhiden when they are set to hidden in the lamedb...
So put those channels in the blacklist.... (parental lock list).

The big question... .Why do you need to hide services???

hi littesat,
the purpose of doing this is because we create a dummy service in order to fill up the number.
For example if the Sky Sports is on Ch 100, you need to create a dummy service from 1 to 99 just to get number 100 on the user bouquet and thus need the number from 1 to 99 to be hidden. the dxdnotshow flag was working fine until one of the recent builds. My resolution is to use the earlier image build.
Sorry for my english this is the best that i could explain.

You can full it up with numbered markers instead. Note that they are created by openpli years ago for exactly this purpose. E.g. Fastscan and cablescan are using them. Hide dummy services is in fact a work-a-round for your goal. Numbered markers are designed for this goal. Also the user interface does understand them.
hi littlesat,
i understand what you meant but in dreamboxedit there is not option to add numbered marker; there is only text marker which will not effectively make the channel number in order with the provider.
thanks.

Then maybe it's an idea to contact the author of dreamboxedit and ask him to add it?

This is an example of a default numbered marker which you can include in a userbouquet...
