I wonder if that is true.

 

In other words, did the MediaPortal team themselfs decide to add SatCo to the licensed users (and if so, why) or did VTI this themselfs (we know they are closed source, so we can't see).

I don't know the source of this source (), there are a lot of available sources that are not "open" (in the GPL sense of the word).

Whatever the source: a license like that is asking for boycotting the plugin.

A normal user can just install it with openpli on an extrend or so.... As long the user cannot open py files he is not notified about three license rules.... And you cannot expect a user opening the sources...

No need to open any source: the license is in the plugin folder. And the license is meant for distributors, not for end-users.

So I deleted the plugin from the OE-A 3rd-party feeds. Saves a lot of keeping-updated as well....

I don't think it is in the feeds. I install it manually after every flash

Stange you also don't have it. My Mediaportal was updated from 7.3.x to 7.4.x. Tonight I shall try a complete reflash and then install 7.4.3 to see if the problem isn't there anym

 

i think this problem are not on all e2 boxes, i have the problem on the mutant hd 2400 but not on the et9000

I coincidentally also have a hd2400 and an et9000 and both have the problem. I even reflashed the et9000 and installed 7.4.3 directly after that and still have the problem. Also changing to the default skin didn't help.

So why some boxes have it and some not is a mystery to me. It works or the problem is always there (not depending on the source). Also the brand doesn't seem to matter (as your 9000 doesn't have it and mine does) nor if the plug-in was updated or yhe latest version is installed immediately.

It depends on the stream you do play.... That clarifies why you sometimes get the crash and sometimes not. I internally fixed it here but spite of the license I cannot post the fix...

i gave a hint a few posts back...in #12... It could also be there in closed source stuff.....

thanks for your hint - it's better as nothing

i don't understand why the developers as @dhwz and so on from the mediaportal plugin don't want to make a fix for that problem.

I see they found there a second file with the bug... so e.g. Openatv can also consider to revert their work-a-round
