Where do you expect Dutch subtitles besides for hearing disabled?
I assume you don't expect Dutch subtitles on foreign channels like BBC etc. ;)

Hi rocco99,

There are 2 types of subtitles:

- the translation one

- the hearing impaired.

The translation one are only active when you watch a TV in another language and that you need subtitles to understand. So if the TV show is already in the language this kind of subtitle remains empty.

You need to enable the subtitle for "hearing impaired" in your setup those one are normally always filled. Otherwise just by setting the language it is the translation one that is selected (which is probably empty when you test it).

Probably for the first one that if both are present used the hearing impaired instead of the translation one, if only hearing impaired don't use it.

The second one, force to always use the hearing impaired one.

And it only works if the broadcaster/provider fill in the correct values for the language identification. A.o. M7 doesn't always do that.

Zo o.a. Disney Channel Nederland...

Misleaded by the dutch screenshot....

One config allows subtitles for the deaf and hearing impaired are allowed and the other config gives it prioraty when there is normal and "deaf/impaired " subtitles available ...

It 's just a shame most channels and providers do not understand how this should be distributed!!!!

E.g. Disney Channel Netherlands ...this channels offers at the Dutch audio and English audio and subtitles for the hearing impaired at ...so our kids who select English Audio with Dutch subtitles will get anoying " LAUGH , MUSIC, DOG BARKS, APPLAUSE messages... why do channel and provider does not also give normal subtitles.... And why is the hearing impaired marked as normal subtitle...???
