I don't get it either, but electronics are not long lasting here. Could be because we're using IT-system on powergrid and you're having TN or TT,but again that shouldn't have any affect when I'm just cutting power.

Anyway, ups, new box, and old one on the bench with broken (or at least locked) mb. Have been searching a bit around and have heard about NAND-flashing (directly) If anybody has any good links I would be most thankful. (Bought this box to have something to play with. Never thought it would be soldering wires into it)

My vu duo start suddenly start to reboot and reboot for abaut 10 times. And when i take out the power cable for 20 min then it's only come a red light in the display.
I open the box and i measurement the ripple out form the psu and is was fine.
But it's was somtihing strange round the C807 so i change it.
And now it's came starting in the display, and its all ok now.

Well done. I hope this doesn't happen to me but I'll remember your solution. Was C807 swollen, leaking or discoloured?

cheers

Sir, I owe you. I had a bricked box, red led, nothing else. Replacing the C807 (with a 24V 220uF in my case), revived my box from the dead.

Hi guys....im too on same boat. A Week before I did flashed with new image and the box stuck on >Starting. I tried the whole day to fix it[trying different image] no success all of sudden I ended up with dead box just red light. As per members success story I feel alike can bring back my box alive.
As per catshoop "C807 220uF 16v with a newone or with 330uF 16v on motherboard OR PSU"
Can someone please write about how to change C807 220uF 16v with newone 330uF 16v. I know i m dump and this technical related issue it goes off my ear and brain.
Is this 330uF 16v available in open market if so where?
I last remember i opened my box to see either it's genuine or not [found out to be genuine] it looks bee hives [all that funny canddy stuff] where exactly it is located?
Do 330uF 16v need to be shoulder or its just you take out old C807 220uF and plug in 330uF 16v?

Your answer will definitely be appreciate and I hope by this useful information other member too bring back their dead box.

Regards,
Kiri

Hi Kiri all the parts are numbered on the Circuit board. you well find C807 in the front left corner of the main PCB. The Capacitor will be available in any electronic component supply store. If you are unfamiliar with this type of work I would suggest you have the Capacitor replaced by someone who is.
Until The Wheels are off the ground there is still hope

I tried to reflash my Vu+Duo using a USB stick, but after cycling power the Vu was dead, only the red LED on

the front was showing, and nothing more.

Luckily I had some capacitors at work, so I replaced C807 with a new 220uF 16V, and now it works again (and flash updated too) !

Thank's for the info!!  :)
