DM500 language problem

henryling's Photo henryling 30 Jan 2010

Dear all,

I am new in using DM500 and want to try translate a *.po into Chinese. I have follow the guide from "Is your OSD (OnScreenDisplay) language not correct?" by using the poeditor.
But after I put the mo file into the /var/share/locale/zh/local_message, I can find the Chinese icon on the DM menu. However, all the Chinese cannot be displayed after I selected the language.
Is there any mistake on the procedure? Any other thing to do other than just put the mo file into the folder?
What I have downloaded are the "pli-Jade-dm500-20090627-6494" and "zh.po".
Please help and Thanks a lot!

You can't just create a .mo file and let it work. Some things in the image need to be changed first.
I think it's better to download and install our Chinese image which has already support for this.

Thanks a lot!
As the original zh.po is Simplified Chinese version.
I have translated it into Traditional Chinese version.
How can I create a Traditional Chinese verion image myself?
Or could you help to create?
Attached pls find the po file.

For building your own PLi image, see here: http://openpli.pli-images.org
If you have all the source code, just replace the zh.po file with your po file. You need Linux for this.
