Hi Guys,

Trying to set up rytec EPG on my DM600, right now I have a cifs mount, have downloaded sqlite and the rytec xmltv, in the shared folder there were three files
epg = 242kb
epg.db-journal =0kb
rytecxmltvuk =12,554kb

From telnet this is the output

root@dm600pvr ~ # e1_UK.sh
Using a timeOffset of 0 seconds.
Retrieving 120 hours of data for each channel
Date: 20100929
Connecting to www.xmltvepg.be[212.71.0.79]:80
rytecxmltvuk.gz 100% |*****************************| 1739 KB 00:00 ETA
/var/bin/db_epg -t xmltv -d /media/server1/epg.db -f /media/server1/rytecxmltvuk -o 0 -h 120 -m /var/tuxbox/config/dbepg/e1_UK.dat -g /var/tuxbox/config/dbepg/genre.dat -e -c 1
Setting encoding to ISO-8859-1
DB start transcaction failure: 5
Error msg: database is locked

Just tried again and now it looks stuck at "setting encoding to ISO=8859-1

Any ideas?

Little update, after rebooting and trying again but this time waiting some time in the shared folder on the PC there is now a file epg.db at about 8.5mb so looks like the download was ok. Only problem is I now have no epg at all, not even when I click on a channel.

So I looked in the plugin epg configuration and when I click on the blue button for channels and then blue again, none of my channels are in the mapped list, they are just sat there on the right side of the screen, I guess I need to map them somehow, can anyone explain how to do this?

Or maybe another issue?

Normally some channels should be mapped already. However it is possible that you have to map some of the channels.

Download the manual, there is some explanation on how to map channels.
After mapping the channels you have to perform a new import.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, I read through the doc in your post. I think I have almost everything set as per the instructions expect for the very last part about MV input configuration, maybe this is the problem as I also tried the radio times option and mapped a few channels but this didn't work either.

I am using the latest openPLi image, could someone tell me where the MV option is as detailed in the last pic on the guide?

Thanks

Frenchman

You do not have to use the MV part. This optional.
Try first to get the thing to work, and worry about MV later.

Got it working at last, the problem is something simple :)

In the web interface, you have to click on box control - settings- and then under "EPG cache path" there is the path for sqlite

Specifies the path where the epg of the SQLlite store will be saved

This should be changed to the path of the cifs mount, it's default is media/hdd, I changed mine to /media/server1 so this could also explain why some people say it works better with internal hdd because this is default.

I didn't need to map any channels yet, but I see some do miss the EPG, but as I still have to organise the bouquets I will see how it looks when I delete all the trash channels.
