I have asked the image/plugin builders of Pli and Vix to help us out regarding the problem when for example the xmltvepg.be site should be down and then no one can download EPG anymore.
And we have got a few positive responses from image users, site hosters, boardmembers to use their hosting space where we can upload our EPG data files.
Now we have in total 6 locations where we upload.
We want to thank at this time the following people who has given us the privileges to use their webspace; World Of Satellite, TM800HD, Tman, Raymond, VU+NL, and ourselves
.The more sites we can use, the less bandwidth is used of everyones site and the more safety the datafiles are available (assuming that our mainserver is still doing his job, therefor we only have one at this time).
Well, Vix team has already come up with a beta version for us to test with so I assume that Pli can take over also this version when it's ready into their plugin feed.
These locations are noted in the /etc/epgimport/sources file and the plugin takes in random order one of those locations to download the EPG data.
When a server is down it should go to another one, etc, etc.
We are now testing this plugin and we hope that Pli and Vix can work together to bring this into the plugin feeds for everyone.
