I know this has been discussed before about removing (T), ® and other text from the program titles.
The reason I ask is that I recently missed some autotimer recordings.
I eventually found out from old recordings that the title has changed from having no (T) to having one.
I also see that the number of channels in rytec UK with the (T), ® etc has declined alot Only 5-10 now.
Can I remove this text be editing something ?
Also for the rare time that Rytec isnt available Id use openTV but that means that alot of my Autotimers wont work because of the (T), ® etc.
One other question.
If I wanted to download a selection of channels for serveral satellites can I create a file to do that or are the channels downloaded as a group.
Thanks and excellent work....

I can then have a look from where I downloaded these, and probably do something about it.

Try all Channel 4 and all channel 5 incl HD on 28 deg East.
Also Sky Premier HD has some (T) entries where as most of the other Sky Movie Channels have the year (2008) etc at the end.
It would be best to either turn on or off these extra characters as it makes the epg look really messy...(I personally would prefer them turned off)

This originate from the webpage i am using to grab the info from.
Several things could be done. The obvious is using another website, but this requires reprogramming the grab engine for these channels. I'll try first removing them from the title for the channel4 and channel5 and watch the result tomorrow.
The sky movies channels which have this behaviour are grabbed from the same website. Since this can by any date, this is a bit more difficult to remove. (But these would not have the problem with autotimer - would they). The only thing here would be to grab from a different website.

Is there some channels using different sources.
Rytec is great but the extra text is driving me mad.
If Im in the middle of a program and do an epg search for that program on the channel epg it finds nothing most of the time because the current program uses the now/next data and the rest of the channels data is rytec and might have (t) ® or (2008) in it and not appear in the search.
Is there an easy way to remove them.

Found the reason why these things appear behind the program name.

I am assuming that youve done something to the EPG and removed the (T) ® etc as they dont seem to be there today.
If so thanks a million. It does look alot neater and more uniform.
There were a few programs with the (T) still there but its probably just something left in my EPG.Dat.
The issue with the year in the movies if no big deal.
If you havent changed any thing then OOOPs I dont know what has changed.

And then I realised I could do a better job, and f**cked it up.
So third time better, and from tomorrow they will be a thing of the past. The info I removed from the title you can find in the subtitle. The (T) and ® are not a big deal to lose, but other things could be between parenthesis which could be lost. The are now in the subtitle.
