Hi Littlesat,

i think nobody9 wants to state out that this Patch disable the internal E2-HTTP-Server Listening on Socket TCP/8080 as seen with:

root@et9x00:/# netstat -an | grep 808
tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:8080 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN
root@et9x00:/#

root@et9x00:/# netstat -tulpn
Active Internet connections (only servers)
Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address State
PID/Program name
tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:8080 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN
3433/enigma2

Port 8080 is defined in here:

http://openpli.git.s...a4b4eec;hb=HEAD

Don't know what actually makes more scene.

1. Completely remove internal HTTP Components in E2 or

2. Just change the Port 8080 to some other non-priviledged "Unused" Port according to IANA-Portassignment.

3. Don't know which other components bind or refer on internal E2 Port 8080?

Does if have an other negative side-effects to diable Port usage 8080 in E2?

I think OpenWebIf uses Port 8080 as Default Portnumer.

twisted.internet.error.CannotListenError: Couldn't listen on any:8080: [Errno 125] Address already in use.

It used fixed port 8080 and you can´t disabled it. The most Users don´t know that a Internal Webserver in E2 exist. I think it better to have only the Webserver as Python Plugin.
The other think is for security reason then you have acces to all files on the Box.

Never noticed it was there. That alone is enough reason to remove it, it's just a waste of resources.

So let me get it clear.
4 example webif (newest original) and streaminterface(pli plugin) they all use the webserver as python plugin?

So the httpd at port 8080 is not in use at all?

Maybe something for openpli to remove it, and offer the httpd on port 8080 as plugin? (if someone need it)

So if we run this remove internal webserver patch of first posting, then dreambox webif and streaminterface are unchanged?
I prefer to dump all unnessesary resources eating stuff.

Maybe a stupid question, but how to use the *.patch file?

Dreambox Dm8000 with all hardware addons donated to OpenPli. No interests anymore in policy of CanalDigitaal / M7 group and now-a-days channel encryption (like CI+ / HD+).

Good luck Enigma2 / OpenPli, it was fun with Sky Movies and so on, collected a nice collection of movies. Now back to basic boring lineair TV with KPN iTV (VDSL2 pair bonding 219 / 63 Mbps).

The VDSL pair bonding is excellent for... torrents to NAS in higher quality then HDTV (Like Dolby-TrueHD or DTS-Master-Audio soundquality ) :D

Hi,

just update your STB tomorrow and Webserver on Port 8080 will be removed, so no need for you to apply such a Patch. The other mentioned Plugins uses completly different Ports

WebInterface: 80/443 as default

and Streamproxy: 8001

Awesome.
Didn't realize that it goes so fast at openPli (and that is goooood).

So streaminterface plugin (port 40080), isn't depending on the removed httpd.
I'll check telnet update/upgrade tomorrow what it does.

After update of today, port 8080 is not active anymore. So i assume httpd is away, or disabled?
