Garnet, Dm500-C new tuner support?

's foto nissebulle 30 dec 2006

Hello!

After flashing the box (first time boot), I do the screen settings, language, time zone (blink) and then I end up with lots of Sattelite services.
What happened to the option of searching for your own provider?

Okay, I hit exit (no providers are even close to fit the Swedish Com Hem cable network) and do setup to try to search for my provider. But that option is not there (see attached image). I cannot perform transponder scan to find my provider. (Normally found under "Service searching).

Or ... doesn't the new Garnet image support the new DM500 tuners?
(from dmesg).

I simply would hate to be forced back to Gemini 3.30... :/

Hello Peter!

Thanks for your reply.

I did download the image from this board (so that I will get the first hand, non messed with dist).
The OSD works, somewhat but Garnet still doesnt unrecognized my tuner and I there is no "Service search" nor any provider search available.
What do you mean with update through the OSD?

Some dumps from dmesg, I have a feeling that this is the case:

From dmesg, PLi Garnet 20061228 Rev.2164:
stb04_pig: $Id: stb04_pig.c,v 1.10 2005/02/22 23:07:45 obi Exp $
tda: id is wrong (7d != 7c)
[DENC] set mode to FBAS

From dmesg, Gemini 3.30:
stb04_pig: $Id: stb04_pig.c,v 1.14 2006/05/31 18:23:01 ghost Exp $
registering frontend...
tda: init complete
[DENC] set mode to FBAS

Please note that stb04_pig version of the compiled DMM-native release is 1.14. So to me it is kind of strange that the CVS that you guys use does not contain the update for the stb04_pig DVB driver. Even though that head.ko is version 1.1.0.

Please, if possible, incorporate the new driver into a maintenance release (preferably :) ) or the next upcoming release (then I have to wait for another 5-6 months :/ ).

Many thanks for your dedication to keep the DM images clean and solid.

---------EDIT---------

Aaahaaaa! There is a maintenance release available!

Thank you very much for this maint release! It works great now!
Thanks for listening!

This driver provides support for the DM500-T (terrestrial DVB) and DM500-C (DVB via Cable) models.

You canalso donwload and upgrade your image from the enigma setup menu.

You use the image from december 28th, the first release. The updated release with the latest dream driver including the support for new tuners is dated 20061231.
So I guess something went wrong with downloading/installing the new image...

This latest driver was not in CVS until a few days ago. Gemini took the driver staratight out of the DM500 images release by Dream a couple of months ago. Somehow we missed this release. I contacted Dream about this and minutes after that they've put the new drivers in CVS. They also just forgot...

Well, that is what the 20061231 release is supposed to do...

-- edit -- Ah, so you already noticed :)
