Opencam doesn't start work on startup

shoeboy's Photo shoeboy 6 Jan 2007

I really hope someone can help me with this problem because I really like the new PLI image.

Log files:
http://www.hostclip....fc88f5da433ee6e
And now for some details.

Problem Details:
Image: pli-Garnet-dm500-20061231-2191
Location: Toronto, ON, Canada
Channel List: 91 & 61.5
Problem: After the dreambox first starts up I'm left with a black screen on the last channel I was viewing. If change the channel or restart the emulator then I'm able to watch tv. I know that ermethic was having a similar problem (http://www.pli-image...&thread_id=2225) with ccam but his problem doesn't appear to be the same for me. I'm hoping that someone can find something useful in my logs.

Thank You.

The problem you experiencing is probably caused by the fact opencam does not use the new pmt interface (an interface the PLi team introced over a year ago). It just uses the old trick in which opencam playes a server role. This means that enigma contacts the server to pass pmt data. This pmt data is needed by opencam to open the channel.
Enigma contacts a server only when it changes to a new channel (enegma startup is also seen as a zap).
Now if enigma startsup quieker tahn opencam, enigma will be unable to contact thee opencam server and hence no picture. When you zap, opencam is already running smothly and will prperly receive the pmt data.

You could contact the opencam developpers to start using the new interface. It is availabel in all recent dreambox images as the PLi team has place this new interface code in CVS. And we even help developpers to implement the developers through sample code on how to use this interface.
