Hello,

First of all, thanks for great image and forum.

I have in my Vu+ Duo (kernel 3.1.1) an problem after online update with USB DVB-T stick.
Before the online update the stick was working ok (Installed with Javier3034 instructions from
thread http://openpli.org/f...__1#entry232595 )
After the update the stick does not give any picture, so I re-applied the instructions (reinstalled the modules).
But not there only comes message "timeout reading PAT" and no picture.
Any Idea what could cause this?

dmesg says:

Try if

opkg install usbtunerhelper

then restart helps....

Hi,

Thanks, I forgot to mention that I tried this (I saw it in an other thread) no change.
It just tells me that it is already installed, even the force option to reinstall does not help.

try without usbtunerhelper.
With usbtunerhelper, we have to rely on dvbapi5 support in the vtuner device. Which might be missing for vu+.

Without usbtunerhelper, e2 goes to the usb device directly, avoiding such issues.

Hi,

Thanks for the quick answer. How to remove usbtunerhelper? I tried with "opkg remove usbtunerhelper" without success...

define 'without success'? (as that's exactly how it works)

The usbtunerhelper is (after the remove) still found with "opkg list usbtunerhelp" (and no change in the behaviour either).

To see if it is still installed please use

opkg list_installed | grep usbtunerhelper

Using opkg list only shows if it is available from any source not the current status on your machine

Oh yes of course... my mistake in command. Anyway after removing usbtunerhelper and system restart
, the same problem exists.

Info of the channel shows that it is 1280*720 and MPEG2/HD even though it really is regular SD channel.
Same for all DVB-T channels. Last time I did online upgrade was less than a week ago without problems.
In system information window I can see that the usbtuner looks to be found as do the internal DVB-S2 tuners
(which have no problems...).

Taking an closer looa at the info shown, it is actually the channel info from the working DVB-S channel which was
used before trying to open the DVB-T channel, so incorrect info in the window shown...
Any ideas what to try next?

Ok. So I tried to update the software again and the usbtuner started working again. maybe something had failed during the previous upgrade that caused this.
No notification of anything failing though. But the tuner works now. Thanks for ideas.

I had the exact same problem this week so you were not alone.

But luckily a new online update fixed things.
