Hi guys.

Had this bug happen a couple of times now... Have 2 recordings set to happen in the morning sometimes, both on the same channel, one occuring after the other, but due to the before and after minutes, they overlap. One is set for 6:47 - 7:03 and the other is for 6:57 - 7:13. Not sure whether it happens everytime, as I haven't really paid attention to when it does happen and when I set the recordings, but it's happened a few times already.

Using ultimo, and this is the important part of the crash log:

[TIMER] record event 2
query epg event id 1623
found event.. store to disc
[TIMER] prepare ok, waiting for begin
[Trashcan] Recording in progress 2
PATready
use pmtpid 010b for service_id 1e15
RECORD service event 5
[TIMER] record event 6
[eDVBCIInterfaces] gotPMT
[eDVBCAService] don't build/send the same CA PMT twice
[eDVBServiceRecord] now running: †Big School‡ (600 seconds)
[TIMER] record event 9
[TIMER] activating state 2
[TIMER] start recording
[TIMER] record event 0
Recording to /media/hdd/movie/20121002 0657 - Channel 5 - Little Princess.ts...

It means your box has run out of memory (RAM). What type of box are you using?

Can you post the output of "cat /proc/meminfo"?

Hmm, this is on a vu ultimo. So, wouldn't have thought it would be a memory problem... But I do do an epg update with crossepg about an hour beforehand, using quite a few different epg sources, so it could also contribute to the problem...

/proc/meminfo currently is showing:

root@vuultimo:~# cat /proc/meminfo

But I suppose could do with running this just before it's gonna crash (if I were to know it were to crash at the time :P)

because e2 crashes (and restarts) when this happens, whatever is in /proc/meminfo is no longer accurate.
e2 will usually release at least 100MB of memory when it stops.
