Hello,
For some time I have been reading about the possibility of receving BBC/ITV channels at 27.5W satellite (11495, V, DVB-S2, QPSK, 44100, 9/10).
There are conflicting reports as to whether these channels can be received on Dreamboxes. I am not sure if the reports on successful reception are reliable, though.
Here are some quotes from other forums reporting what the problem really is:

BBC on 27 West use crypted PMT pid's

The mux contains a normal PAT (PID 0x0000). Otherwise no programs could be read. The problem is that the PMTs are scrambled. These tables contain the PIDs of the elementary streams like video, audio etc.
To get the channels in colour, you have to add the ES_PIDs manually. The allocation is known at least from the time when the transponder was open. Of course the tuner has to cope with the high DVB-S2 SR.

Is there any way to make this channels running on enigma2 dreambox? I have done a scan on transponder 11495, and with dreamboxedit I have changed pids. But I can't find anywhere how to change PMT pid.

Some more quotes in a separate post because of forum limitations:

Let's clear some things : scanning of this transponder can be done with dm800se (not dm800!!), 8000hd, 500hd and propably 7020Hd.
You can scan the transponder, but not encode it because enigma does a check if there is PMT info for decoding the channel.

Conclusion : at the moment is not possible to descrable the picture on those Dreamboxes, because enigma2 running on DM is blocking that !!! Somebody has to to change it, because they are not allowing decoding without PMT info at the moment.

And nobody till now is capable of doing that with enigma2 that the fact. Only receiver F-16 is capable of doing that, but they are not using enigma2.

Well I can't get this going on my E2 receiver. It locks the transponder fine (it was working the other day when the transponder was open) but now it just comes up with the "service not found in PAT" message.

To read a channel the receiver has to read all necessary tables. But the most relevant table is scrambled! The receiver only knows the program numbers (SIT) from the PAT and the corresponding names from the SDT. You have to add and edit everything manually.

What I have done so far with dreambox was to introduce video and audio parameters, but because Editor lacks pmt, the package still not open.

Apparently even more stand alone boxes are capable of receiving BBC from 27.5W. So far Technomate boxes easily do the job as well as Dr.HD F15/F16 and Clarke-Tech HD5000.

So far the only problem for Dreambox in HD is that you can not edit PMT pids.

You can if you use Dreambox Setedit. Just lock the parameters after adding the PMT value in Change Channel Data, and the receiver will lock the channel- and then of course time out after not resolving the PAT. That's as far as we can get with Enigma 2 of course.

I tried all editors, including Dreambox SetEdit, and unfortunately to no avail to keep PMT-pid into receiver. It seems you're right, Enigma2 for dreambox does not allow changes in satellites.xml file?

I suppose it just does a scan of the frequency and kicks it out when it can't parse the PAT.

I gave up with the Dreambox a while ago because of the encrypted PMT problem in E2. Not really worried as I have them on the DR HD F15 and vPlug in DVBDream.

Does anyone think it is possible to fiddle with PMT on Enigma2 boxes?

our e2 should allow selecting a vpid+apid based on the cached value in the lamedb, even when there is no valid PMT.
Haven't tried it though, but if e2 aborts the current channel when it gets a PMT error (or timeout) the fix would not be that hard, I'd imagine.

pieterg, do you have a possibility of doing some tests at 27.5W ?

I think a solution for VU+ was posted here: http://www.vuplus-co...t-5.7072/page-2
If it indeed solves the problem of PMT timeout, do you think it could be adapted on Dreamboxes?

Interesting the content is scrambled using BISS, which suggests it's feeds. Does anyone know the purpose of this feed? Freeview?

I am not sure if this really solves the problem of scrambled PMT pids on VU+:

Hi Everyone.. looks like VU+ has done a fix for this issue. Follow the below steps
1) go to plugins and then addons AND THEN ONLY choose fpga upgrade,
2) then download this file using this link - http://archive.vuplu.../UNO_TS_PRO.dat
then u have to send this file to tmp folder thru dcc and close dcc. and then in the receiver go to pluigns file browser and go to tmp folder and install the .dat file.
3) when you install it it will take about 5 minutes.
4) then download and using winrar unzip the file - http://archive.vuplu...20120809.tar.gz
you will find 4 files and then send the 4 files to lib/modules/3.1.1/extra/ and replace the old files
the 4 files are brcmfb.ko, dvb-bcm7413.ko, fpga_directc.ko, procmk.ko
5) restart receiver and then search for channels using frequencies and then
vu uno should lock the channels HD.

All files for UNO and ULTIMO
HERE
http://archive.vuplu.../drivers/lowbr/
BUT I have not test and I cannot test this drivers .

Just for info -
FPGA-4.5 update + new drivers (20-08-2012) ...
and Vu+UNO now can store this BBC package transponder (27.5W)
It's DVB S2 and QPSK.

the fpga update? No, that's not related to scrambled PMT pids.
All that is done in e2.

OK, I see.
Anyway, a lot of people would be grateful if someone found a way to lock to 11495 V at 27.5W on OpenPLi images.
Hope someone who has a motorised dish has enough knowledge to try and do that.
Thanks.

If it doesn't work, could you provide a (piece of) e2 log?

My satellite dish is too small at the moment, so I have to visit my friend's with my DM800se.
I will get a bigger dish only if I manage to lock to the signal with this box. In the meantime, I would of course be glad to assist you when I visit him, so I think I could give you a log on Tuesday.
What would you like me to log for you? A manual channel search on this transponder? Or an attempt to lock to the channel using a ready-made channel list downloaded from the internet?
And by the way, how do I generate a log like that? I understand this is using telnet? What commands do I use to start and stop logging?

I thought the problem was the scrambled pmt pid?
Or is it that you cannot get a lock?

OK, maybe I expressed myself incorrectly.
I think the lock will be OK once I experiment with a bigger dish on Tuesday.
Just as someone says:

Well I can't get this going on my E2 receiver. It locks the transponder fine (it was working the other day when the transponder was open) but now it just comes up with the "service not found in PAT" message.

I will run a channel search and see if DM800se is able to find these channels.
I will be happy to provide a log but I would need some guidance as to how to do that.
