Vu+ can't play AC3 on TS files

Dear All,

A friend of mine with Vu+ has problems with the AC3 sound from TS files (recorded previously on Dreambox).

Changing the extension from .ts to .mkv and forcing the file not to play with servicedvb but via gstreamer, then sound is working.

What might be the reason sound is not working with servicedvb on Vu boxes?

I cannot attach the sample TS file because is more than 10MB, please download from here or here.

PS. On my dm800se is working without changing extension.

I guess yet another VU+ driver bug. Did he reboot? Sometimes that helps when you're having audio issues.

I know that this problem exists with previous drivers and the current drivers. So just rebooting doen't help.

Maybe a user with VU+ can reproduce this with the sample ts above and spot/figure what the problem is?

If the probleem indeed is in the drivers, there is no way to workaround it.

Other than changing the extension, probably no.

I was hoping to confirm that problem is driver issue.

A (closed source) driver problem is exactly as nasty as a hardware problem.
