VLC media player 1.0.6 is obsolete, try a newer version please. That should work on a PC.

Or was v1.0.6 the version on your VU+? I think they have newer versions as well.

I had same problems with VLC and MPC-HC as well (streaming from Ultimo). Now I'm using XBMC and everything is OK. Try and see :)

I use VLC 2.0.7 on Win7 laptop and I have no problem with OpenWebif v0.1.7 streaming live or recordings from my Vu+Duo over 150Mbps wifi network.  I find this a very convenient and powerful package.

(Your VLC 1.0.6 must be rather old)

Ok I have XBMC running............ (For Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid you need to add a repository "ppa:nathan-renniewaldock/xbmc-nightly"  and  dpkg -install the following .deb built files)

But I can't see how to configure XBMC  for streaming... any suggestions please.

Thanks

How do you try to watch it? I use Openwebif because it is very simple and user-friendly.

I think its something to do with the XBMC > pvr >  VU+ addon/plugin.

VU+ addon is not needed. I don't know the linux version but in Windows I just click on stream icon in openwebif and choose the player.

@hdp160 you can use the script to convert userbouquet files into .M3U: http://openpli.org/f...-whole-bouquet/

Then in xbmc run stream directly from the generated files without OpenWebif.

Hi thanks

I've looked at the thread and everyone seems impressed.

Please can you give a little setup information please.

The basic idea is that with this script you from userbouquet files in dremabox, can be generated .M3U files which directly, without OpenWebif, may be opening on your computer with VLC or XBMC, or on any device that can be used for streaming.
You must understand that streaming provides enigma, not OpenWebif. It just gives a link to the channel.
How to run a script in dreambox ask google, it will help you ;) . Read the readme.txt in archive and I hope that you will understand better how to run the script.

Taapat ...... thanks looks good.

Running Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid) is a bit of a pain but I have a few things which only run in this distro.

Hence the out of date VLC version.

Latest news is I reinstalled VLC and removed the previous legacy command line arguments, Set ".M3U  .mp3"  files to run as default and completely unexpectedly VU+ Solo2 > OpenWebIF > VLC (version 1.0.6 Goldeneye) is streaming without stuttering.

But I will try Taapats script in due course.

Thanks everyone................. BTW    thanks fleggy for the XBMC recommendation I'm using it to stream on-line content  10/10 :-)

from my experience best way to watch streaming via DVB-enigma2 is XBMC , here with mac-osx it's work stable, everything fine you can also do some tasks like timer and direct record and so many things like subs ... deinterlace

I stopped using VLC cause it's sometimes crash enigma2 and many freeze with SD channels even FTA channels!

to get it's work:

install XBMC (windows,linux,iOS,mac osx ,android...)

install Add-on VU+ enigma2 client ... and setup your setting IP:Password...etc

then it will sync with STB (channels,epg,timer....)

tested with PLi3(ET9000)+XBMC (Mac pro , MacBook Pro).

cheers
