Just a heads up guys.
 
Andyblac has once again twiddled those magic fingers and has commenced a major recode of the CrossEPG plugin, from build 755 CrossEPG will use a free tuner same as ABM does to gather its data. work is still ongoing but this should give you a quick idea of how things are coming.
 
Once again i would like to give my personal thanks to Andyblac of the ViX image team / OE-Alliance for his continual strive to improve Enigma2 for ALL users of all images alike.
 
Here are a few screenshots of the new CrossEPG in action in build 755.

If the original e2plugins wants to cherry-pick all this than it might also be in openpli....

But e commit is huge and includes translations etc... So it is not a nice commit to directly cherry pick

what happens if this is used on a twin tuner receiver, with only one tuner in use, even if both are configured? ABM then just hangs, will this do the same, or does it look  for the signal on the 'free' tuner, and if its not found, then revert to the other tuner?


DMM 2x 500s, 2x 7020Si, 600s, 800s, 500HD.

-update scheduler to same procedure as AutoBouquetsMaker.

-allow to compile without poll, makes download slower as PID’s have to be read in order, but some drivers have issues with the original way.
todo, make CrossEPG download a background task so the E2 gui is not locked, so it does not matter how long download takes.
-allow more tuners.

Is this available on E2OpenPlugins? If not, it has nothing to do with OpenPLi, so why post it here?


Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

I always presumed that it is supposed to be somehow connected with OpenPLi - in a sense "playable on" and "available for" OpenPLi (in the feeds)...

 

So, will it be freely available for all, please?

It is free for all.... but all these great improvements are committed on a fork from the orriginal sources.

The issue might be that most if it is one big use non structured patch with tons of changes without any clear descriptions..

Hopefully Skaman is willing to push an update to e2openplugins as he did before.

Skaman has since retired from enigma2 and no longer works on such projects or very very rarely, hence one of the reasons  Andy's modifications are on a fork away from the E2openplugins GIT. From posts else where This version of CrossEPG does work on Pli fine but the user had to FTP the files over as installing the .ipk file just installed the latest version from the pli feeds.

 

Here is a .ipk downloaded from the ViX / OE-Alliance feeds ignore the gigablue quad reference as thats the box it was downloaded from.
