I am still on OpenPLi 3.0 (ET9000) and I have recently noticed crashes after performing blindscan and then pressing GREEN in order to OK the channels.

Here is the most significant part of my crashlog. If the complete crashlog is required, I will happily post it.

By the way, is this Blindscan system plugin available on the feed for ET9x00?

I just can't seem to find it browsing packet management from the menu.

Using satscan, isn't it possible to limit scanning to a certain   frequency range   or  H/V polarity  or certain SR range?

But I did not install Blindscan. I reflashed a couple of weeks ago to 4.0 and I never installed Blindscan, only Satscan.

It was 3.0 that I used Blindscan.

Somehow I missed this thread.

Yes I should have a look into this. Although I can only test on vu+, not on et.

But I am very busy at the moment, it may take a few weeks.

Looks like Dima73 might be working on the improved version of Blindscan plugin: :)

Looks like this bug is the knock-on effect from this commit. If I remember correct it caused the same problem in Satfinder and another one in FIW. At a guess you should just be able to copy the solution from satfinder. For the time being though the easy way to deal with it is at the end of the scan press exit instead of ok. And then just close the plugin and go to last scanned bouquet.

Do you think it is the same bug that affects both  Satscan  and Blindscan?

Although I do appreciate Satscan I kind of miss the option of limiting SR range and frequency range, which is available in Blindscan plugin and is important for DX-ers because it saves a lot of time.

Maybe, if it has the same error (postscanservice).

In the OE-A blindscan plugin you can limit SR, but but you don't have too, because there is another option to just ignore transponders that aren't feeds. Needs a compatible satellites.xml file to get the best from it, which you can download from my site (http://satellites-xml.org/). Just check only active transponders. This also speeds up normal service searches.

Thanks Huevos.

I am already using your satellites.xml.

The crash log from Blindscan plugin is in the very first post of this thread, and I think it is indeed postscanservice error.

Unfortunately, this plugin has been removed from OpenPLi feeds.

Huevos, do you have an *.ipk for Blindscan plugin which will work in ET9x00 OpenPLi? I will remember to use EXIT instead of OK after the scan before this is fixed somewhere for good.

Thanks.

I don't have an IPK and anyway the plugin has been updated several times since then, to add things like twin tuner card Vu's and various other receivers, and moving the dish in advance, etc. TBH the response I got at the start was that it was a speciality plugin and OpenPLi would rather write their own. Anyway I personally don't use OpenPLi but by the looks of it Dima is going to port the latest version on the OE-Alliance git so it works in OpenPLi.

It might be better if Huevos tried to fixed the real sources of this blindscan plugin instead of oe-alliance's fork.....

I just uploaded the ipk to the 3rd party feed...
