Screen position

Pr2's Photo Pr2 27 Jan 2015

Hi,

Playing around with OE-A image I find an interesting features to resize the image/skin to perfectly fit the screen and avoid losing some pixels on the side of the screen. (to correct the "overscan" of some TV screen).

Do you think possible to also include this feature in OpenPLi?

Regards,

I'ts

"OSD position setup" in plugins menu.

Main menu/Plugins/OSD position setup

Some images have numbers for the settings which are easier to remember (not in Pli)

btw, you should definitely disable overscan in your tv settings in the first place, if you care about the quality of the picture...

(unless your tv set doesn't allow to get rid of this, then of course, osd position setup might be useful)

Hi,

I call it overscan but I am not sure that it is the right term.

And I have (in normal setup) no way to move/decrease the image on the TV, so I use this plugin to perfectly match what is really visible on screen for the OSD and avoid to have some truncated term on skin that really display text very close to the border.

It just a question of a few pixels that are not visible for the OSD but thanks to this plugin I am sure that I see the whole OSD.

well it's not just the osd that is cut off, you also can't see the full broadcasted picture in this case...

and are you sure your tv does not allow to disable overscan?
the name for the setting for disabling it varies depending on the manufacturer, it should be somewhere in the menu for display mode, something like '1:1 pixel', 'just scan' or 'screen fit' is the mode with no overscan...

Or Google for your 'TV type/number & overscan'

Hello,

I am also searching for this plugin, but it is not in the plugin list.

Weirdly when i am doing opkg list-installed, i found enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-osdpositionsetup installed.

But in the Openpli interface, i can't found it, and a big part of Openpli Interface is missing on each part of the screen (arrows are half cut).
In Openpli-> Menu-> Settings ->System -> Audio/Video-> I can found Assistant Overscan + 3D Osd, but sadly not the old OSD setup which was permitting to fine-tune-adjust the screen size (from left and top + reduce the width and height)..

I found a way to solve this problem by changing a setting on my LG Smart TV - > Picture settings -> 2nd option (Picture Format setting) -> 2nd option -> Signal analysis -> Enabled (was on Auto).

Now i can see the screen completely.

Then you didn't check correctly. Menu - Settings - System - A/V Settings - Overscan Wizard is the place to correct it. But ONLY if your TV doesn't have an option to disable overscan.

It asks you if you can see all arrows, and if you say no (you can change the value using left/right), you can adjust the UI size.
