the title already says it: when you press pause it does not immediately freeze audio/video playback but audio/stutters before playback freezes.

this is very annoying.

can this be fixed, please?

This is the way timeshift works in OpenPLi. It doesn't bothers me.

definitely not...

at least on my et9500 such behaviour never occurs

I would suspect some box specific driver related issue

It's very recognisable for VU+ driver implementation.

is there a workaround possible? i mean, it just occurs at the start of timeshift.  when you press pause in the middle of timestift then playback freezes without problem.

I'm afraid this is driver related....

Also my et10k suffers from this issue, my dm8k not. Both without hdd and both are using the same nas for timeshifting.

Just tried it with my et10k, and no problem whatsoever. Image stands still without problems, but this is local storage, so perhaps it's related to a network connection?

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Don't think so, it takes a second (or something like that) for timeshift to produce a "steady" image. While in timeshift there is no waittime.

My dm8k connects to the same nas and has no problems. Both stb's don't have an internal disk.

What kind of setting do you have for "Zap mode" (Menu - System - Customize - 2nd setting)?

Forget it, doesn't matter. Whatever mode I select, I don't get any stutter when I start a timeshift, not in audio, not in video.

one more info: i was able to produce the problem with usb-stick as well. so, it doesn't seem to be storage media related.

No, I was responding to remark about the ET10000. My Duo2 isn't connected at the moment.
