Resize skin (overscan)

doglover's Photo doglover 15 Jul 2017

I have a TV in the kitchen (an old Samsung 16:10 LCD screen) 1280x720 resolution.

This works perfectly OK for its purpose.

However on the HDMI input I cannot disable the overscan.  Well I can, but I cannot make it permanent.  The manual of this TV also confirms this.

And this is a (small) problem with the skin (I can live with the picture cut-off a bit).  Some info of the skin runs off the screen.

I am using the PLi-HD skin.

I remember there used to be a plug-in which allowed you the scale the skin (a bit).  Problem is I do not remember the name of this plug-in.  I searched through the plug-in list but could not find it.  (found a screen position-er but this is not it)

Can somebody help me with the name of this plug-in.  Or with some advise how to solve this?

The receiver is a ET-6500.

Restarted the receiver, and now it give the screen with the arrows.

But this is for configuring it on the TV.  And here is the problem, I cannot make this permanent on the TV!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I am looking for something to do it on the receiver.

Follow the instruction...

It might be the box does not offer resize of the skin.... Then you need to change the skin...

That is not the issue doglover has.

He wants to use a Full HD skin on a TV on which overscan can not be switched off. So he need to either use the Overscan Wizard to resize the OSD to within the viewing window (if the box supports it), or switch to an Overscan compatible skin (if not).

Looking at the screenshots that skin has a bit of overscan space, but not a lot.

After the umpiest time trying to use the Overscan wizzard,  Iit suddenly jumped to a screen where i could resize the OSD.

And that did the trick.

Do not know why I did not found it in the first place.  Temporarily blind I suppose.  (i am getting old)
